A report from Polygon claims that the Xbox One Headset Adapters, which allows users to use their current-gen Xbox headsets with the next-gen console won’t launch until 2014.
Earlier this week, licensed headset maker Turtle Beach announced that it would not release the XO Four and XO Seven, its third-party headsets, until Q1 2014.
“The Xbox One headset adapter, being built by Microsoft and provided to Turtle Beach for inclusion with new gaming headsets, will not be available until early 2014,” the press release read.
What does this mean for you?
You’re going to be stuck using the official Xbox One headset that comes bundled with the console, or the Kinect microphone. Unless you fancy forking out another few hundred bucks on a next-gen compatible headset before the adapter launches.
