Earlier this year, 343 Industries announced Halo: Spartan Strike – another top-down shooter created by Vanguard Games which takes place in the Halo Universe. The game was set to release on December 12th, 2014. You can see the trailer for Halo: Spartan Strike below:
Today, 343 Industries told us that Halo: Spartan Strike would NOT be releasing this month and has been pushed back until early 2015. Here’s the statement they offered:
“Earlier this year, we announced Halo: Spartan Strike, our latest touch-based top-down shooter for Windows 8, Windows Phone 8 and Steam, will be available on Dec. 12. While we’re excited about this all-new Halo experience, our commitment to resolving the current matchmaking issues in Halo: The Master Chief Collection remains the top priority. As a result, we have decided to move the release of Halo: Spartan Strike to early 2015.
We can’t wait to show you more of Halo: Spartan Strike early next year.”
While it is sad to see a Halo game being delayed, it is absolutely great to see that 343 Industries are prioritizing Halo: The Master Chief Collection to ensure the game lives up to the standards of what fans expect.
A patch was recently released for The Master Chief Collection which improved matchmaking search times but issues such as unbalanced teams and crashes are still occurring.
The Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer beta is still on track for its December 29th release and in fact, we just found out how big the beta download will be.
Saddened by this news or are you happy that 343 Industries are prioritizing Halo: The Master Chief Collection? Let us know on our forums.
