Halo at Gamescom 2014 Recap | Beyond Entertainment

343 Industries took to the stage at the Xbox Gamescom media briefing and started off their announcement with the “Halo Channel” – a new destination for all things Halo.

Releasing in November, the Halo Channel will allow you to see behind the scenes footage of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Halo: Nightfall and Halo 5: Guardians.

Next, Dan Ayoub announced that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will feature a skill-based ranking system that will be identical to Halo 2’s.

A video was then shown which confirmed that Halo 2: Anniversary’s new multiplayer map will indeed be Sanctuary like we previously predicted. This video featured pro players like Walshy, Strongside and many others showing a quick first to five kill game on the new re-imagined map.

343 Industries then shared a video which talked about the Halo 5: Guardians beta and what is going on with the game as the beta draws closer.

The video showed off new maps, weapons and more that will be featured in the Halo 5: Guardians beta later this year. And yes, a Midship remake was shown.

The Halo 5: Guardians beta will kick off on December 29th, 2014 and run for three weeks until January 19th, 2014.
