He recently polled which version of Call of Duty: Ghosts that fans would likely buy and results showed that “physical was preferred 2 to 1” which led him to the question: “Is there any difference between the data on the Call of Duty: Ghosts discs you buy and the data the digital edition delivers over the series of tubes? ”
Dan goes on to confirm that there is NO difference between the physical and digital versions of Call of Duty: Ghosts.
The Call of Duty production team assures me that it’s all the same. The data on the disc is exactly the same data that you’ll find in the digital download; the only thing that’s different is the delivery method.
As for the Free Fall map pre-order bonus – Playstation 3 players who have digitally pre-ordered will find Free Fall is apart of their pre-order bundle.
For Xbox 360 players, any player who purchases the Xbox 360 version of the game before November 18th, 2013 AND is apart of the Xbox LIVE Rewards Program will receive an email after November 18th, 2013 with a redeemable code to download Free Fall.
It should be noted that this offer is only valid for games in the “US, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong.”
Be sure to sign up to Xbox LIVE Rewards here.
Finally and probably the most important part of his blog post is information on the size for the digital and physical versions of Call of Duty: Ghosts.
“The digital versions of the game should be anywhere between 9GB and 13.5GB, depending on your territory (largely due to localization stuff).”
You can read Dan’s full blog post here for more minor details.
There is currently on information on size of the Xbox One or Playstation 4 versions of Call of Duty: Ghosts.
