Stood in line for two hours today at Goose Island for 3 beers.

It was well worth it.

They have three public locations in Chicago, Fulton & Wood, Wriglyville, and Clybourn. Fulton & Wood is where they make Bourbon County and most of their barrel aged beer, in addition to other beers. Clybourn brewpub makes a lot of beer but most of it serves the people in the bar and restaurant. and then there is Wriglyville, idk what they do

Since being bought out by A-B in 2011 most of their core line up is produced out of state, in New York and Missouri and California (not100% sure on that)

This has freed up GI to focus on Bourbon County and barrel aged beers at the Fulton & Wood facility.

I had one last night and it was incredible better than 50/50 18 year Elijah Craig... and apparently they only made 360 bottles. I have gotten ridiculous offers on the trade forums. CBS, Armand& Tommy, Rare DOS etc. Pretty much anything you can think of I have offers for.

Isn't their brew pub the only thing left that's not owned by inBEV?

Everything is owned by inBEV.

Goose Island has been left all of their employees and have the same creative control. The beer has not suffered as of yet. Although if you ask anyone who was around a few years ago in the Chicago craft scene they will tell you that Goose Island is past their prime. That is yet to be seen, I think Brett Porter and the crew has a good control of things and I am very excited for their upcoming 25th anniversary releases as well as Gilliam, Halia, and Bourbon County Barleywine, Bourbon County Coffee, and Bourbon County in November!

An ipa is the worst thing you could ever buy in bulk, hops fade over time. That's why stone introduced their best by series.

Drinking Third Wheel's Amber Lager beer.  Not bad but not great.  It might be better than Yeungling's Amber Lager beer.

I don't really drink beer but when I do, I make sure it's the cheapest six pack that's not shitty beer (aka Natty Light).

ITS CALLED THE GOOD BEER THREAD!

What cheap ass beer should I get tonight fellas?

This post is the very antithesis of this thread, its not about getting a cheap drunk. Its about appreciating the craft of brewing, and about sharing the gospel of good beer
