Was thinking the exact same thing. Forge textures have regressed.

Is there any way we can add depth to this map? I never toyed around with trying to improve the map but it seems like there is very little you can do.

I like how he kept it as close to the original version as possible. Even forging some of the natural Foundry structures in.

 

I think Salot has made several "depth" like versions of Onslaught on Reach though. This video shows little ramps leading up to the top of bottom A and B tunnels. It also shows a few different pieces of cover/ledges in the bases.

And have the pros learn new things? We can't have that, now can we?

there really isn't. There's some places that can be improved but it wouldn't add depth

Great job on the layout.

 

However, and this isn't your fault but, my goodness it looks awful. Just... bad.

 

And to think, H2A still has frame rate issues in Forge...

I like Onslaught, so much hate  :(

 

And I totally wouldn't be against it being one of the forge maps used in competitive. 

 

I would still like some new maps. Forged or not.

this is what I mean.

 

I'm not talking about additional forge pieces or jumps, or cover. I'm talking about a way to add depth to the game so it isn't, spawn, push, shoot, push.

 

Things like Camo bottom mid and OS top mid adds depth, but would be terrible on onslaught. A big portion of getting new maps into competitive play was that the people in charge or the pros with the feedback didn't like to learn anything besides spawn, push, shoot, push.

Why new maps when the classics play so well? More variety we have the better. Anythings better than the same 3 maps, over, and over, and over.
