Jer4Bear Posted November 18, 2014 I know that a lot of people say asus is the best monitor to play on. If I am going to spend the money on one, i want to get the right one ( I just dropped money on a 60inch smart tv and the xbone in the last month) so i need this to be my last purchase for a while lol. if anyone can link me sites on great deals or black friday deals as well that would be amazing. Nokt Posted November 18, 2014 I was wondering the same thing. Every time I look up reviews about the $150ish Asus models I hear things about ghosting which worried me away from buying one. I was looking at getting a $200ish Asus IPS (I hear the benefits of using an IPS are more worth it when using a console). Quote Share this post Link to post
Jer4Bear Posted November 18, 2014 ive been told this one right here http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-24-led-hd-monitor/8767099.p?id=1218890757862&skuId=8767099 is a great deal for the monitor. Quote Share this post Link to post
ZerueLX11 Posted November 19, 2014 ive been told this one right here http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-24-led-hd-monitor/8767099.p?id=1218890757862&skuId=8767099 is a great deal for the monitor. It is a good monitor but that one is a bit dated now, plus 144Hz is useless on consoles. If you dont have a beefy PC dont waste your money. This is currently the best "gaming monitor", http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236405&cm_re=rog_swift-_-24-236-405-_-Product but it doesnt work with consoles lol. Anyways the best monitor for console gaming(and streaming) in my opinion is this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014374 Full 1080p, 75Hz(60Hz for consoles) and it has an HDMI output for capture cards to use. Its 240$ and probably has better colors than the ASUS VG248Q. Don't get me wrong both monitors use TN panel types which means they are not as good as color reproduction but since the BENQ one is newer it probably has an improved TN panel. Another option is also this one too http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014345 Its pretty much the same as the previous BENQ monitor just with out the HDMI output for streaming. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

IPS great for casual gamers as it provides beautiful cinematic experiences. I just assume since people on this forum come from a competitive/Pro/Stream back ground , they would want the best gaming grade TNs for console gaming. The IPS panels are probably are not as slow as some people think but some gamers would like to have the peace of mind that they have the fastest and best performing equipment possible or use what the "pros" are using. Yeah, but you and both know that 1ms 144hz monitor isn't being utilized at all. Why not get them the monitor with much better colors for the same price? Quote Share this post Link to post
ZerueLX11 Posted November 19, 2014 Yeah, but you and both know that 1ms 144hz monitor isn't being utilized at all. Why not get them the monitor with much better colors for the same price? True, but like I said some people want to use want to know they have the "fastest" stuff. The OP said "Asus is the best or best gaming monitor", typically the best stuff in gaming performs the fastest. I'm just going by that definition. The BENQ I linked had a 1ms response time and was 75Hz with a streaming option. Its up the person really, can he notice a few milliseconds? Does he want a better picture? or does he want the fastest possible? Quote Share this post Link to post
Jer4Bear Posted November 19, 2014 Thank you guys, you have been very very informative and I really appreciate it! I will def look into the BenQ. I just want the best monitor for the best price. I want it for multiplayer, i dont care about cinematics. Quote Share this post Link to post
