I kinda like this post or signature I remember reading from someone. It said something along the lines of how each Halo is fundamentally different with a Halo skin on top of it.

 

What is traditional Halo when you think about it? Because when I look back every single game was completely different than the other. I've fallen in love with Halo 1 and 2 because it was my child hood and what I feel to be the two most competitive Halo games but they were drastically different.

 

I know this is kinda off topic but to be honest I don't really care about Halo 5 being so different because I've finally come to realization like you mentioned how the days of good competitive Halo are long gone. This trend will continue on forever and people will still flock to it or buy it because of the Halo name alone. We still have developers thinking we want sprint when even on Waypoint during the Reach/H4 days the majority voted against it yet they do not care.

 

Halo 5 is what it is when you think about it but for my standards it just doesn't seem worthy of the Halo name so I'm not really sure what i'd name it to be honest.
