That makes sense. I'm not sure where the second Best of 5 idea got traction, but it needs to be shut down IMO. It basically excuses a loss from the team coming in from the WB.

This is what MLG use to do until Halo Reach. I remember when Instinct loss to Infamous everyone was pissed because it was the first time it went to a bo11 in the finals that way and everyone was complaining it wasn't fair for Instinct. How things change lol.

 

But you are right going to a Bo11 is much more fair. Basically requeim put infamous in the loser bracket and play them again in a continuation series.

the series are exclusive of each other, the previous series has no bearing on this one.

Infamous should be rewarded for staying in the Winners bracket and winning the winners bracket over SQ.

I get it, just seems odd. Infamous getting rewarded for Winners bracket was the first series where they can end the tournament in 5 games. If they lose that series it should be continuation IMO

In the losers bracket against SQ, that's how they did it. Now it appears they're changing it to a separate best of 5 series?? What the hell?

 

Requiem and Sq had previously played a series which ended with Sq up 3-2, therefore there second series was a continuation of the original.  Requiem and Infamous had not played each other until the finals so Infamous technically needed to be knocked into losers.  As to why they don't "continue" that series, idk, its just something they've always done.

That is the problem, there is no loser bracket for Infamous.  Remember, Infamous beat SQ in the Winners Finals. Requiem beat SQ in the Losers Finals.  This is a Championship match, Infamous did not go to the Loser bracket this event.
