Sosa Baby Posted December 18, 2016 Absolutely no problem with it being a legendary variant in Warzone. Shouldnt be in because of bad memories 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
TheIcePrincess Posted December 18, 2016 Probably been said here before, but no matter how good your map is, if it has frame drops, it needs to be taken out of the rotation and either be taken back into a testing room, or removed entirely because it is not fit for a competitive or even casual environment. It is unfairly crippling to have your frames drop when you're trying to aim in a gunfight but get messed up because the dropped frames completely decimate your means of coordination. And it sucks more given your opponent most likely won't HAVE these drops as they're not looking at the area you are which causes these drops. 8 Quote Share this post Link to post

Next you'll be saying they should have their own schools. Quote Share this post Link to post
wow Posted December 18, 2016 Frankie commented on this on GAF recently: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=226266054&postcount=150 Not having compressed audio is so fucking stupid. There's probably 40g+ of audio which could easily be 10x smaller with a good codec. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Basu Posted December 18, 2016 Oh r/Halo, never change who needs balance, right? Given that this is the attitude of the majority of Borezone players, I don't understand why WZ gets priority over Arena in terms of weapon balance. 9 Quote Share this post Link to post
Apoll0 Posted December 18, 2016 Oh r/Halo, never change who needs balance, right? I actually agree with that? Its warzone. 12 v 12 w/ AI. its supposed to just be a ridiculous wild fun time. Who cares about balance if everybody is having fun? Ranked play is an entirely different story of course. Balance should always be scrutinized in those lists. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Moa Posted December 18, 2016 Given that this is the attitude of the majority of Borezone players, I don't understand why WZ gets priority over Arena in terms of weapon balance. It seems like the Warzone team at least give half a shit about the mode and will tweak weapons for it. Quinn just doesn't want anything to change for Arena and keeps introducing band aids. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Zeezbruh Posted December 18, 2016 Some guy on r/halo things it would be a good idea for the Halo 4 Boltshot to return as a REQ variant. Just.. no. Why would anyone ever want that over powered BS to ever return is beyond me. THIS IS WHY HALO IS LIKE THIS. Why does a potential warzone req have you so tilted? Quote Share this post Link to post

Ranked play is an entirely different story of course. Balance should always be scrutinized in those lists. Balance is what makea things fun. Half the reason people think warzone isn't fun is because a 12 man team can snowball kills, cheat out unbalanced/rare REQs and pubstomp to their hearts content. If WZ had party balancing, REQ progression balancing, and fucking balanced weapons/vehicles it would be 10x more fun. Warzone being fun for everybody requires them to be it to be balanced as well. 8 Quote Share this post Link to post

Meh. We're just gonna disagree on this one. There are tons of weapons with ridiculous attributes in warzone. I dont see the need to test them to the nth degree, esp since the weapons are called in randomly by the players. The issues you are describing are related to matchmaking and other motivational factors outside of actual weapon balance. Those do need improvement. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Ramirez77 Posted December 18, 2016 The REQ system already makes the mode inherently imbalanced, and good luck trying to properly balance hundreds of weapons that are literally designed around a tier system of weapons being better than others. Trying to balance Warzone is for the most part a complete waste of time. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Hard Way Posted December 18, 2016 I actually agree with that? Its warzone. 12 v 12 w/ AI. its supposed to just be a ridiculous wild fun time. Who cares about balance if everybody is having fun? Ranked play is an entirely different story of course. Balance should always be scrutinized in those lists. There's the qualifier. If it's poorly balanced, at least half of the players won't have fun. The problem is that Wolfmaster16 and those like him (seriously, did we expect anything else from his name?) are too dim to understand the consequences of poor balance when it's happening to them. These are the "wouldn't it be cool if" crowd that seem to populate every fucking focus group and every fucking multiplayer team. They throw out shitty ideas that only consider the person using it, and never the victim and the counterbalancing. They never even consider what it would be like to have their shitty idea used against them. Somehow, it just doesn't even cross their mind. My theory is that the people that come up with these shitty ideas almost exclusively play single player games where they don't have to worry about the AI doing this thing back to you. And yet, with probably <5% of my multiplayer playtime, these ideas are put forth, actually listened to, and these ignorant melvins shout down the counterargument with such gems as "but it's more realistic", and "who cares about balance". It wouldn't be a problem if they didn't outnumber educated opinions at least 3 to 1, or if they were actually aware of their own ignorance. But getting back to warzone, I think we can agree that we can play a lot more fast and loose with the weapon balance in Warzone. It is supposed to be a ridiculous shit show of OP everything trading random unpreventable deaths with each other. Where it comes off the rails due to shitty balancing and lack of foresight are as follows: The base capping system. The fact that you need to have the entire base vacant of enemy presence for like a full minute is nothing short of asinine. There's a reason the middle base never changes hands in...well...any map, and it's because the base capping system is horrible. Hell, until recently, these problems were compounded by the fact that the incumbent team would spawn right next to, or even in the base for easier prevention. Warzone would instantly become more enjoyable if the base capping system operated the same as Battlefield, where a simple majority would allow the base to change hands, and the more people you had in the faster it would go. Boom. Suddenly Noctus and Stormbreak and Temple are all WAY more fun. Being able to see your damn teammates. This was finally addressed, thank God. Now teams can actually have basic coordination when choosing which base to capture. The home base design/spawn system. The spawn points and the whole base are designed to bottle up the losing team and create a shooting gallery for the winning team, while at the same time preventing the winning team from actually pushing in and putting them out of their misery. Ever play Sidewinder CTF in Halo 1? If you have, you might remember how the base design and spawn placements do exactly the same thing. A lot of dying for the losing team, and zero objective opportunities for the winning team. Warzone is just like that, but on a bigger scale. The base needs more ways in (preferably from above and below), and the spawn points need to be spread out so that when you kill them, you actually get them out of your way and can play the objective. And lastly, the incentive to win quickly. The RP and XP payouts need to obviously and significantly reward a team for finishing the game quickly and efficiently. Because if a team can win quickly and efficiently, then the teams were poorly balanced in the first place, and every effort should be made to minimize the suffering for the team that just got shafted by the matchmaking. Currently there is no system like that in place, and at the same time we have the opposite incentive in place with the Achilles armor requirements. If you go to the Spartan Company commendations list, there is a tab specifically for "Game Mode". In it, you will find commendations for winning various gametypes, and getting medals for playing the objective. THIS is what they should have used for Achilles! The game would have been in a waaaaay healthier place. People would have incentive to play all the gametypes, and more importantly, to play for the win instead of farming kids all day. And that seems OBVIOUS to me. But here I am earning zero dollars from the game industry, while someone that is earning a paycheck is making these shitty decisions. @@Deez, can you please, PLEASE pass this along to the Warzone team? 20 Quote Share this post Link to post
Lukes Posted December 18, 2016 For Warzone, the unbalanced weapons don't really bother me. It's the garbage matching system and crappy map design like others have mentioned which is what I think need to be changed. Reducing the parties isn't really going to fix the problem when one team is full of onyx players and the other has maybe one or two decent people while the rest are legit silver and golds. With everything else, I agree with Hard Way's post. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
ThievinStealbrg Posted December 18, 2016 Am I the only one who thinks the new UNSC logo looks like a shitty children's toy decal? The Halo logo redesign looks bad, too. Bungie and 343 took away all the cool nuances it had. Small nitpick, I know, but it still bothers me. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Trying to balance Warzone is for the most part a complete waste of time. It's random and stupid, but it doesn't have to be completely broken. Adding the weapons to the right REQ level and giving both teams the same REQ progression would go a long way to make it less snowbally. 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
