I don't think 6 will be a flop.  MCC surely was though and Halo 5 was mediocre all around.  I feel like I wasted money on both, especially MCC.  That makes me not want to buy 6, even though I am a Halo fan.  I'm still bitter.  Basically, track record has killed my hype of the franchise. MCC was totally non functional and everything with Halo 5 is half assed.   

Agreed. I wonder how many others feel this way? I bet a lot. In fact, I bet Halo 6 will be a huge flop. I actually hope it is and that tons of people lose their jobs for ruining this franchise.

 

The only way I will ever buy another Halo title is if it's original formula. No sprint, no "abilities", no gimmicks, no overpowered autos, no bullshit!

I think h6 will do great if 343 continues to iterate and improve, and MORE CONTENT

 

I mean it can't get worse.

If you ask me, every halo game has gotten worse progressively after the initial trilogy (Competitive viability aside, each of the initial 3 games built off the one before it). I think Halo 5 is the worst yet. It'd be really hard to get worse than this game in my eyes.

 

But I've been saying that since 2010.

Hypothetically speaking, H5 is better, because of the pistol and the movement, but with 343 running the competitive setting it's not completely out this world to say that H4 > H5. Every Halo with radar and an overpowered automatic starting weapon will be flat out terrible for competitive play, no matter how well the rest of the game is designed.

I don't think so.

 

It's splitting hairs imo. Which of the two is better will depend your priorities. For example, I consider offline functionality, splitcreen, and LAN to be extremely important, and H4 beats H5 handily in those categories.

 

Halo 5 has better gameplay, but is missing more pieces of what I believe make up a good Halo game.

 

I think they both share a space at the bottom of the list.

Well we all know each game of the bungie era dipped in competitive quality until the scene was basically dead with reach (although had the game started out with v7, I don't think this would've been the case), but other than that every game during that time had one upped the last one in more Ways than one, h3 introduced forge and theater, reach put forge on steroids and added new and interesting gametypes that weren't competitive but fun as fuck, like invasion and headhunter. I don't think h4 or 5 actually one up bungies games in all that many ways, Spartan ops was a failure, and warzone is a vessel for 343 and ms to profit off of microtransactions by implementing a straight up moba game mode, forge being amazing is about the only thing it does better, it's still missing a shit ton of features like split screen, lan and countless gametypes.

It's E3. Everyone is shaking with anticipation for the reveal of Halo 6, the final installment of the Reclaimer trilogy.

Fan favorite Walshy is there to introduce the devs.

The devs come onto the stage. "First, we thought we'd show you a new and copying call o----I mean innovative part of our new multiplayer. We're excited to say that we're bringing in 4 specialists for your team to choose from."

"First, and we all know you love him, we of course have the Master Chief. His specialist is 'Cortana Hacking', where he uses Cortana to scramble the enemy team's radar."

"Next, we have the Arbiter. His specialist is 'Active Camo'."

"Then, we have the Odst. Now, this one's really interesting. He's a bit weaker than the other 3 characters but his specialist can call in the support of AI-controlled Odst squadmates."

"And finally, we have Locke. His specialist is 'Hunt the Truth', which allows him to track the movement of the enemy team's Master Chief for 30 seconds."

 

The crowd erupts. After the applause dies down, a single sob is heard.

It's Walshy.

Everyone turns to look at him. "What happened, Dave?"

Walshy composes himself. "Sorry, I just heard that something I cared about died."

The crowd is sympathetic and everyone gives their condolences.

"It's okay", says Walshy. "It had been dying for a long time now."

You said yourself, Forge is amazing in H5, if give Reach credit for improving Forge, 343 needs that acknowledgement as well, other then that I's agree

 

People will probably go crazy but I even liked H5's campaign more then H4's, not as much as I liked H1-3's but still better then 4..

Sure, the story was boring and uninspired but contrary to the popular belief, I don't think H4's story was really interesting but H5's design is great for the most part (Sanghelios, Genesis) and it at least led to a point, where we can expect to return to a Halo in the next game.

RTS games would like to say hello. From my pov, having a higher input demand in fps games is enjoyable, makes the game feel faster in many ways outside of other factors.

 

Physically exhausting though? Lol I would be thoroughly surprised to see the APM of Halo 5 be close to any FG/RTS.

We all said that with Reach.

Man we said that with H2 and H3. Lol. Halo has really been over a decade of the developers turning up on whoever thought it couldn't be worse every 3ish years.

My right hand starts aching after playing this game for long periods at a time because of the aiming and I can't get an aim setting that feels good so have to put up with it.

If you ask me, I think the MLG Playlist in Reach is pretty much the best Halo experience you're going to get on the 360. Really wish 343 had the balls to at least make the TU settings default, though.

The big problem for me with nbns Reach was the map quality. The maps most often voted for were diluted, ugly versions of sactuary and pit. I didn't think any of the other maps (not including damnation and beaver creek because I never saw them in the playlist) were anything too special except for maybe countdown

I think core gameplay wise Reach pre-TU is the worst Halo experience possible. And then the TU saved the game and Anniversary was amazing, the game honestly has bipolar disorder lol.

 

Still can't believe 343i saved Reach and then did a complete 180° and continued down Bungie's path of making every successive title worse than the one before.
