I'll never understand "PC master race" people. Look at all that money you spend on a high end rig, only to beg for ports of console games. 

 

I don't like people who advocate "PC Master Race" every chance they get, but overall, it is cheaper than a console and the communities are long-lasting.

Ditch Nightfall, get high off of Hunt the Truth.

Ok what's the hype with Hunt the Truth? I've been hearing about it hear and I've never listened to it. Is it just a deep lore thing? I need to catch up on the lore I've usually played Halo for the MP

That powerup animation needs to go. Is anyone even arguing for the animation? Though, maybe it should stay in because it perfectly embodies 343's changes to the series; useless, hinder to gameplay, and only implemented for the sake of change.

I don't know what's worse, the fact that power-ups now have animations or the fact that they are put on a dynamic timer instead of a static timer. Either way I view them as both horrible game design decisions by 343. Power-ups need be useful so they can promote player movement and they need be put on static timers for consistency.

Right now PC is the only safe haven for shooters free of gimmicks. Ever since CoD MW2, shooters have been on a very steep decline for consoles, but Gears UE has been a breath of fresh air.

You know that guy from the comic 'Second Sunrise Over New Mombasa'? Benjamin Giraud was introduced through that comic and is the primary character of the first season. Mendez also involved. Benjamin begins to pick apart a trail of loose threads about the Master Chief's background that were deliberately (and understandably) covered up. He's messing with the government essentially by picking apart their cover ups.

Power ups are on dynamic timers? Wtf? I figured they'd be timed and announced like the power weapons.

Yup 343 put the OS on a 60 second dynamic timer instead of a 60 second static timer. What's worse than that is the sniper on the map "Fathom" was put on a 3 minute static timer which is a absurdly long time and probably won't promote player movement like it's suppose to be doing. 343 has no clue what they're doing when it comes down to power-up and power weapon placement/timers.

Yeah. The only shooter I really like recently was Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. I don't really know what it was about that game. It felt like stealthy Gears of War. Really really enjoyed co-op.

the power ups need to be more powerful anyway, the os just seems so weak. If 343 doesn't want to get rid of the animation, then they need to make the player either drop the power up when killed during the animation, or make them invincible during it.

The gloss and specular maps are fucking real in Halo 5.

 

I haven't seen this many since the shiny desert in Perfect Dark Zero.

The only thing I remember about Perfect Dark Zero is the ridiculous amount of motion blur there was.

 

I thought it looked really fucking cool at the time though.

Anyone else annoyed by the grunting/panting sounds your spartan makes when he jumps or goes in and out of sprint?

 

Listen to the audio at 4:09. Sounds like someone had just taken a massive shit.

Getting 16 bots + 16 other players on infection on 1 + 2 Desert was amazing.

I vaguely remember a desert map with like tunnels in the back or something... Though I definitely remember bots because I only played split screen with my bro at the time, and it made it a lot more fun.

Has anyone in here noticed the "Cliffhanger" medal yet? I was just rewatching Unyshek's upload today and noticed that. Its the first time seeing it for me at least. It is at the 4:49 mark (

).

 

It appears to be when you kill someone who is clambering

why would you get a medal for killing some one who isn't facing you and cant shoot at you if they were. Seems pointless to me.

Looks like they have more culling to do when it comes to getting rid of the inconsequential medals in Arena. That medal is basically like being given a medal for killing someone who is crouch jumping.

@@Unyshek uploaded a new video of him wrecking on Fathom earlier today (I'm assuming from PAX). Was waiting for someone else to post it, but guess no one has yet. He gets quite a few triple kills and one overkill/exterm, so much better than our friends at Gamespot and IGN lol

 

 

Things that I noticed was the pistol appears to be pretty difficult to use which is a good thing, but unfortunately the AR and SMG are not hard to use at all and seems like a lot of people realized that and didn't switch to the pistol too much. This could change as people play the game more of course and get used to the pistol (But these are observations we've noticed for a bit now I guess).

 

Solid video though and great plays by Unyshek. It is nice watching H5 arena gameplay from people who know what they are doing

I just noticed that the radar doesn't have the arrows on the dots to know if someone is above or below you. Has it always been this way on H5?

Yea I agree it seems pretty pointless. Not quite sure how this medal would be deemed more valuable to the player than the assist medal. I don't see this type of kill happening a ton so I guess its not really a huge deal, but totally agree that it isn't valuable/needed

@@Deez participated in a discussion about weapon spawn times a while ago in here and seemed receptive to making tier 3 weapon static spawns more frequent. Since I assume this footage was from an old build, hopefully those changes were made. Anything to share, @@Deez @@Sal1ent?

I just noticed that the radar doesn't have the arrows on the dots to know if someone is above or below you. Has it always been this way on H5?

 

I don't believe it has... here is an image of the radar in a random H5 beta gameplay.

I like it more without the arrows. It takes more awareness and teamwork to know where the enemy is when the radar isn't straight up telling you.

Ok I'm done. The Halo 1 and 2 kid inside me would slap the shit out of me for playing Halo 5.

 

That Fathom gameplay was 6 minutes of sprinting around using automatic weapons? Are you guys serious?

 

How many hours of playing this until you get sick of hearing the same intro music, the same porn grunts, the same pinball sounds, and seeing the same stupid as hell intros and animations?

 

These cityscape maps are WORST maps I've ever seen. How do you go from playing city-esque maps like zanzibar and turf to playing maps that look like they are in downtown Chinatown? The only AVERAGE maps were remixes from Midship. 343 didn't come up with the main layout. The maps that 343 did come up with are these cityscape maps? Their the worst maps in Halo history. Every map is just an awkward mess of "let's make sure they always have 20 different options to use their abilities at all times". Look how jumbled every map is that we've seen. 100 different hard and jagged ledges, staircases everywhere, 100 different objects to take cover behind at any second, and a 100 different objects you can clamber up.

 

How long can you guys take rounding a corner and losing to someone WORSE than you just because they have an SMG/AR? The thought of weapons beat weapons instead of skill beats skill makes me not even want to buy this game anymore.

 

I'm so sick of 343 pushing me around. Halo 4 was just a "all the old players are going to buy Halo 4 anyways, let's just make it a completely different game to attract new players". Now Halo 5 is a, "ok let's revert back to old Halo just enough to show the pissed off players we still care, but still make it a different game to attract new players".

 

Why kid yourselves about competitive Halo 5? It's going to be the same exact teams in the finals as always. 99% of us only have matchmaking to look forward too. Go watch that Halo 5 Fathom gameplay. That's what Halo 5 will look like to us. I'm dipping out boys.

 

Absolutely sickening.
