they said it would be, as well as confirming that they refuse to change the Hideous design lol.

All they have to do is get rid of the big block :(

It's too late now though, the design is plastered all over the place. It's a shame because I really like the matte/black finish on it. Just that big block is weird looking lol

my problems with it are that it's scope is obscenely huge, that metal guard is obnoxious, the beige furniture doesn't fit, and it's just too smooth for my taste, the reach sniper was mean looking, probably my favorite design.

Yeah the big block on the scope is what I'm talking about :P

The Reach Sniper and H2A sniper are SO mean looking. Nothing beats the H2A sniper's sound though.

thank God somebody said it, I was thinking I would have to do it.

What bugs me even more is the fact "they like the way the game plays with sprint". Well....what about me? One of the millions of fans that made your hand-me-down ( for lack of a better term ) franchise a success in the first place? How much did any of you play Halo before you were given the IP? Just depresses me.  :eyes:

what annoys me is that we're on a "like" basis, why are we not on a "this is what halo was built on so let's implement something that works with this instead of adding something that doesn't make sense with what is established" basis. I mean I've been saying it for some time, don't listen to the fans listen to the game, don't just implement things cuz Johnny two by four thought it was cool, implement things because they logically makes sense within the franchise, games that great are games that make sense, fans like us want halo to make sense because we believe (which I would say carries a lot of weight because we study these games religiously) it will make the game good, and everybody wants a good game in the end. If it's good gamers will play it, not because it has a genre standard mechanic like sprint.

The whole "offensively/defensively" talk with the thruster is getting overhyped. I look at it more as an ability that lets you escape from your opponents or outplay your opponents. Using thrust in a gunfight to avoid taking damage is not a defensive tactic. It is a tactic used to outplay your opponent and a tactic that works extremely well. The escapability of it can become rather frustrating but if you are working with your team and have a solid setup, when someone thrusts away and tries to escape, you can just ignore them and call them out to your team. They wont get far. All I know is that Halo 5 without a thruster would have less of a skill gap than Halo 5 with a thruster.

Just check my montage in my sig :halo: :walshy:

it can potentially be the best thing added to halo since the start, but as of now it kind only goes half way.

again, it's just as hard for the player to keep track, it's not overpowered if you have to good with it for it to be of any use at all. It's not bad randomness, there is such a thing as good randomness.

good random = the skill to make an unpredictable decision to your opponent.

Pressing 1 button =/= skill.

I feel like most people get annoyed when people thrust away from them preventing them from getting the kill. But to me, as long as my team cleans up the kill I don't feel as though the player truly escaped so thruster doesn't bother me much at all in team games. The thing that worries me with thruster is FFA. Kills are going to get away and get stolen more than ever before and it will be absolutely infuriating. Have you guys thought about this/do you have anything in place that will limit this in FFA? @@Sal1ent

To me the issue here is the fact that I have to rely on my teammate at all, just because my opponent pressed a button and is now preceding to sprint back to his team. I play solo a lot, so understand how frustrating it is to have to rely on Jimmy117343 to be able to look to his left and shoot at the same time because my weapon doesn't kill fast enough.

I simply don't understand how Halo 5 is empowering to the individual...The kill times feel way too long to excuse the way sprint and thruster work. If the game is designed that way intentionally (like, the kill times are long and escaping is easier for the sole purpose of forcing teamshotting instead of allowing somebody's individual skill to shine in BR/DMR/Whatever battles), then I'll be severely disappointed.

except there is more going on then one button press, like keeping your aim on target, deciding which direction to thruster, hell just to make it harder you can remove aim assist and bullet magnetism when thrusting to make it that much more difficult to get good with.

That would make no sense. Chief rolls with O.G Blue Team again as shown in Escalation, and Linda is a marksman specialist. She'd have similiar gear as Jun.

So...team work is bad now?

forcing team work instead of letting it happen naturally is bad.

When teamwork is watered down to team shooting because it's required to get efficient kills, yes. I disagree with whoever said Halo 5 has weak weapons and a weak individual though. We have the strongest weapons since CE and you have a lot of options as a player. I just think automatics were a little over the top in the beta and pistol a bit too weak, but otherwise, stellar balance across the board.

Overall though, the feel I get from some of the questions and comments is that a lot of people didn't test even the game and are just talking "what ifs" and speculating without experience. This isn't pointed at anyone in particular, but some of the stuff said really isn't accurate compared to what goes down in-game.

Like it's hilarious to see one person go "wow thrusters are too powerful and make it so easy to escape" when you have some insanely powerful grenades available that make cleaning up someone who escapes with thrusters SO EASY. Then you go back and realize the same person was complaining about how powerful the grenades are compared to whatever other game...

Plenty of people have loved teamshooting games like Halo 2 & 3, and they kept their populations.

Just wanted to quote you for being one of the few rational people here. It's unbelievable how a 343 employee comes here and everyone yells at him to make a Halo CE style game when this will NEVER happen. Gamers want a Halo 2/Halo 3 style game, not CE, not Reach, not H4. This is what population numbers and peoples' recollections of Halo games prove.

The members here come off as a bunch of extremists, asking for ridiculous game elements which no one at 343 has any interest of implementing. The inability of these users to understand that their desires are of the extreme minority is baffling. This is why none of our good realistic feedback really gets through to 343.
