I went with digital a few days ago.  Downloaded the 45GB then a few days later the update was available but it wouldn't dl so I deleted and reinstalled.  Both times I just left it to dl overnight so I wasn't sitting and waiting.  I set it and forget it like those Ron Popeil ovens.  Woke up in the morning and it was done.  I went digital simply because I'll get to play at 7PM my time instead of waiting till 12AM to get the game at 12:30 get home at 1AM and start the download for the update and hopefully be ready at 2AM.

I was going to get the physical copy, but I called my local gamestop and they said the line was going to be out the door with the mount of preorders so i decided to go digital. Started my download last night at 9PM, my xbox says i have a download speed of 9.8MB p/s and upload of 5.3 MB p/s, yet my Halo MCC is only at 77%. Doesnt make any sense. I'm guessing just an overload of people downloading it, because I downloaded sunset overdrive the other day in about 2 hours which was 40.5 GB. Last time I get a digital copy.

Whoever preloads the game the day of is an idiot. I preloaded mine a week ago and have had everything downloaded for a while. Ready to go at 12.

The Xbox Live Service Status says they are experiencing problems with downloads purchased from the store. So if youre downloading an update or the game that may be why.

 

I started a download at 7 P.M. and it didnt finish until 6 P.M. the next day and I have 35 mb down 12 up
