Halo 2: Dual Wield Weapons... ONLY

Halo Reach: Jetpack, But Unlimited

 

Halo Wars: Top Down Perspective 

 

Spartan Assault: Microtransactions For Power Weapons (as stated before they can be dual wielded now)

Halo CE: Freshness

Halo 2: Skill Ranks/Rank Symbols from 40 to 50 (I think the coding for Ranking system should be more sophisticated though)

Halo 3: power-ups

Halo Wars: nothing

Halo 3 ODST: Firefight 

Halo Reach: XP Ranks

Halo 4: Hit detection

Halo Spartan Assault: ability to be multi-platform (PC, Console)

Rather than listing mismatched mechanics and specifics, here are some concepts and themes I admire.

CE: Skillful, purposeful weapons.

2: Great maps specific to that game's playstyle.

3: Fantastic lighting and general aesthetics.

Reach: Wealth of possibilities for customs: Forge World, Falcon, Invasion...

4: The sliding crouch, I suppose.

SA: Sound effects.

I only have 3, Reach, and 4, so I'll say what I have to say about these:

Halo 3: Ranking Systems, BOTH Social and Ranked

Halo Reach: Armour Abilities and Firefight (to replace Spartan Ops) and Reach Sniper Rifle

Halo 4: Customizable Loadouts

Take each one of these aspects & add-ons from each game roll them  into one.  Bam!! Best halo title

Why Reach Forge? Forge World and Precise editor doesn't mean that Halo 4 Forge is inferior.

 

Color pallets, Magnets and Forge Island makes a difference in this game.

 

Most forge maps in Reach were dead gray....

Yet they are pristine forerunner while every palette in forge 4 is chalk full of visual noise, including paper gray forge island. The difference is nigh and day.

 

Yes it could be better but forge world palette was superior to any forge 4 palette by a country mile.

hard.... i can't pick just one thing so..

 

CE - physics, reticule being in the centre, sandbox

H2 - clans, lobby system, maps, ranks

h3 - theatre, custom power-up

ODST - field of view

HR - GL, forge mechanics, graphics, sound FX, netcode

H4 - .... ?

 

i guess if it had to be only one then..

CE - sandbox

H2 - physics

H3 - theatre

ODST - field of view

HR - netcode

H4 - forge

Why exclude everything above/below 4v4? let's try to make the entire game of halo better, not just 4v4.

Halo: I honestly dont know
Halo: 2 The Gametypes
Halo: 3 The BR. The MLG Maps unforged meaning built by the developer. The NO SPRINT FEATURE. NO staying zoomed in while sniping WHILE getting shot. The Leading the shot. The Instasplode grenade. The weapon spawn unliike Halo 4 with ordnance. MLG Flag juggling. MLG Rules with no weapon carry with flag or oddball. OMG and most importantly the 1-50 rank  shown in the game not halo waypoint OMG. The way to view service records.
Halo: 4 The different armors to unlock. customization.
Halo: Reach The Lobby being able to see everyone in the lobby like black ops 2 for ex.
 
 
Wasnt one thing from each Halo but most of the things people miss are from Halo: 3 and the titles after Halo 3 werent carried through with the features from Halo: 3 with 343 which is why the game didnt live up to the hype but just listen to the fans. I could go on for days.
 
The reason Call Of Duty is so successful with almost each title aside from Ghosts is because they dont change the entire game which is where Halo went wrong.
 
If i might add If Halo: 5 adds all the 1-50 ranks and 5 Star generals gained with EXP it would be nice to be able to reset stats it would keep the game played it wouldnt be so boring when you max out your service record.

Or even just aspects that worked well in CE that aren't exclusive to 2v2s. Including, but not limited to, weapon physics, static powerup timers, field of view, centered reticles, an organized HUD, and wholly-usable weapons.

To those who think Halo 4's Forge was not inferior, such as ShadowHD: You likely have not forged enough in Reach to understand the amazing pitfalls Halo 4's forge has taken. It also doesn't help that Halo 4 looks pathetic in general either.

 

Basically, the only improvement I can think of with Halo 4 are all the bridge pieces (on the original H4 pallets).
