memphis at this point is the browns of the NBA...they have the power to ruin anybody who goes there including ayton.  Ive never seen a team with less pieces or assets.

It's because they have the highest paid player in league history, Mike Conley. lol how can you build a team when you're doing that? Plus all of their other contributing players were older as it is, so in the end they're stuck just like the rest of us waiting and hoping for good luck to come their way. Like the Sixers, that is pure luck getting Simmons and Embiid to fall in their lap. Magic were one pick away from both Embiid and Porzingis in back to back years, but nope. Not lucky enough! 

 

Only difference between Orlando and Philly was that we were trying to "build a winning culture" in March. lol look how that worked

 

TANKING IS NECESSARY 

 

That is the problem, that we as fans are forced into this black hole of a rooting interest. Oh hey the Orlando Magic are leading a basketball game, they better not win! Seriously, that is how I have to think? What a terrible league format...

Want to know what is next? Two or nothing rule. You can go to the NBA if you want, or you can go to college but you have to play two full seasons in the NCAA. It'll help in two ways. One, the players that ARE capable of going directly to the league will be afforded that option. It also allows college programs to have a little more continuity with their teams from year to year. You won't just see a bunch of one and doners littering the NCAA tournament every March, only to get bounced early by more experienced schools. 

 

I think it's a great idea, anyone else?

There is a difference between your GM being a moron and not pulling the trigger and other teams not offering what he wanted. Ya can’t just paint this picture like Memphis is some kind of world beating franchise when you just lost by 61 and have little to no playoff success to write home about.

The issue with some of these teams and their tanking is that they aren't even putting all these young guys in positions to work on things that will make them better. 

 

Just throwing out there and having them throw up garbage. Some of those 3 big memphis lineups are just horrendous and make no sense for "developing players"

 

 

And they will blame it on these guys being to young and AAU ball not getting them ready when they don't develop well.

No, if someone thinks they are ready to play in the nba they should be able to directly go there and play. Getting a serious knee injury in college and watching your stock drop because you werent allowed to peruse the NBA sucks...
