What would you add or change about the current settings/gametype rotation?

Whether or not the gametypes should be updated is a topic that should be kept out of this thread.

Removed both Onslaught and Amplified as the styles of those gametypes are better represented by Heretic - no reason for two very similar sets of gametypes. Would be open to Citadel Flag or Bomb but the safe bet is KOTH.

 

Add a good sandbox map?

Which? I'm not overly familiar with the H3 forge scene but I know of some of the top contenders for the competitive settings at the time.

Replace Onslaught CTF with Citadel CTF and Amplified TS with Citadel TS.

I hated Amp from the beginning. If we have a great Midship that has TS, what's the point of a fake Midship with TS?

 

I still can't believe that Pit KOTH was ever removed. It to me was as good as any H3 gametype ever was. I loved that.

Yeah I agree with everyone on that Amp TS should be removed. Onslaught is better but also iffy.

It's a poor man's Midship.

Screw balance :} Yeh there's no expectation for anything to happen, too many issues in the way, it's just nice to talk about it maybe get a few customs together.

lol I thought the same thing. We have a perfectly working KOTH why have no KOTH gametypes? Especially considering how well Construct KOTH games play out.

Citadel was better than shitlified and onslaught. No need for copies of middy if you have the real thing IMO

We should use 125/150 instead of the current damage/resistance settings because the former compensates for the BR randomness by a greater extent.

 

Gametypes that should be removed:

Citadel CTF

Assembly TS

Assembly CTF

Cold Storage TS

Cold Storage Ball

Isolation Hill

More map variety would not only enhance the spectator experience, but also require teams to learn more maps which would do a better job at indicating the better team.

Would remove both Amplified and Onslaught, neither were ever worth having considering we have Heretic. Add Citadel TS and another good KOTH or Oddball map, since we only have one of them each.

This might not be a popular opinion, but if Guardian Ball isn't replaced with a Heretic Ball or a different map I'd at least like to see camo and sniper not spawn for the first two minutes of the game. I guess I'm just a bitch for symmetry, but the start of the game feels weird to me with how the two teams approach those two items from different angles at the start of the game.

Can we just please not have Amplified anymore?  Replace it with Blackout, Cold Storage, or Citadel.

I recall there being an issue with the way the teleporters worked on Cold Storage that differed from how it played as Chill Out, which is why it was never mentioned or included.

The lack of telefragging means the receiver nodes can be blocked indefinitely which messes up the map's flow.

 

Anyway, I quite like Careh's suggestion of dropping Amplified & Onslaught for Citadel. In addition I would replace Pit TS with Assembly TS. With the right weapon set I could see that map playing quite nicely.

 

EDIT: For some reason I misread the OP and thought that Heretic Ball was in as opposed to Guardian Ball.No need to add in a gametype that's already there!

Heretic doesn't play nearly as well as middy did, doesn't mean it's bad, just means midship was amazing.
