Been binge watching Agents of Shield, had a good laugh. One of the characters was playing Halo 5, and he handed a 2nd controller off to another asking for a partner.

Anyone have an LG OLED TV? Been thinking of getting one when I upgrade to next gen.

I’m scared of burn-in from the HUD from playing halo every day...

I went ahead and purchased the 65" CX along with the Best Buy warranty and burn-in is included in the coverage. It was an extra $500 but at least I'll be sleeping easier at night. Amazing TV btw.

I have one and I love it so much. 4 Years old now and zero issues. The HDR alone is worth it, let alone the pure blacks.

Just for the record, does anyone here play grifball?

Why is a 4v4 mode on a non-map with the dullest duel-weapon possible a thing?

Why, over every fun mode you can make in Halo, is it a staple mode??

Griffball, especially halo 3's rendition has gained a cult following.

They have dedicated tournaments for this. They do all sorts of insane shit like using the gravity hammer to boost themself or their teammates. I mean, there is no dichotomy, you can have both griffball and other fun modes.

The Reach Griffball experience really ruined it for me. The credit system just encouraged spawn killing for the full 15 minute game.

People who do that spawn jumpy thing are a particular brand of evil.

People that stat instead of winning the game, just in general, are absolutely pathetic human beings.

It's pretty fun with a group that actually knows how to play as hvs posted. I've almost never been able to relive that enjoyment outside of a group I had in 09-10.

I respect grifball. I understand the appeal and appreciate its depth, because it is there. But I just cannot enjoy a game where I’m looking at someone I can’t damage all game. And when I do go to damage him, it’s a coin flip whether I’ll kill him or he’ll kill me based on connection. No thanks.

Yeah, you can't fully mitigate that feeling of randomness even with the benefits and that's mostly what I'm left feeling about the gametype now.

I have never seen anyone look like they were running a sprint while playing a video game.

But I guess there is always a first time for everything.

Found this little jewel... from 10 years ago...

from Rewarding Play

Most free-to-play games make money by being not fun in clever ways. People will pay to skip the boring, repetitive or difficult parts. They will pay to get new floors in Tiny Tower, or earn money faster in World of Tanks, or play their favorite hero in League of Legends… In most games, “this part of the game is so boring, I would pay money to skip it” is something you would find in a bug report, not a business plan. It’s the kind of issue a good game designer would fix, no extra charge. Most micro-transaction games put the creative and financial goals at odds with each other.
