Can someone link me to something that can teach me the more specific call outs? Like a map or something that i can study. I'd appreciate it.

And i just opened my first few cases. Got a Ak47 elite build in my first case, and just shit since. I want a nice Knife so badly...

There's a bit of discrepancy depending on where you live / who you play with.

Just started playing a few days ago. I was wondering what kind of settings most ya'll play on? Like sensitivities, custom buttons or any specific graphic option setups i should consider. I have a very good PC too, so im pretty much free for any settings.

"True sensitivity" (DPI times in-game sens) is generally somewhere between 600-1600. Whatever setting you pick, you need to be able to do two things well:

1) Focus on one person's head while moving around. Your sens should be enough so you're not readjusting too much, but you also don't want to be jittery.

2) Snap to different angles (to check corners, hit flick shots, etc).

If you have a cheapo mouse you probably can't change the CPI/DPI, so look up the model.

Crosshair:

Purely preference, doesn't matter. People use dots, box crosshairs, the typical large cross, tiny cross, dynamic, static, whatever. You can go global elite with anything pretty much, assuming it's reasonable and works for you. As a new player I advise keeping dynamic. If you mess with the splitdist you can get a static middle and only have the outer tips expand. I used this until MG1 when I switched to static.

Cases: Don't open them, buy the skins you want.

Autoexec: Set one up, include common things like no autoweaponswitch, 128 tickrate when available, etc. Google it

Other things: I highly recommend setting up some custom binds for your different grenades. For example, I have:

bind "f" "use weapon_knife; use weapon_flashbang"

So you press F and it pulls out flashbang. If you have none, it pulls out knife. (It's faster to switch between nades if you pull out knife in between, so we bind it to do that automatically.)

Cool dude, thanks a lot. I'll be checking all that out.

And andreN is pretty sick. I watched Liquid play some matches yesterday. Competitive CS is a good show. The amazing commentators esea has helps too.

In CS, it is amazing how there are events so frequently, but they all feel like they're in the distant future. I just can't wait for another major.

Anyone want to get a group of 5 together to run games during the week after said group is done with school/work for the day? Maybe even scheduled Match nights for CEVO/ESEA? I'm MGE on Comp. Playlist. Just looking for people to play with.
