Medium was the best looking thing in the show. Rest was ok but underwhelming. Way too many glaring omissions.

Honestly, if the grappling hook is treated as a 'power weapon' on competitive mp maps, we would see some pretty crazy plays. 

I wonder how far it goes. Can you grapple a flag? Could you snag an oddball out of midair? Imagine :apg::simms:

Agreed, there's some things that could end up looking better down the line, but we were only given pre-rendered trailers from them so who knows?

Can’t wait for the Enemy team try and play the ball and I grapple it back into my hands to win the game 206-205

I don't mind the grapple hook at all since it's an on map pick up in multiplayer. That means the maps won't be designed around it and it is easily turned off if it just doesn't work in competitive. It seems good for an open world campaign.

It's the fundamental pieces that affect general gunplay and map design that worry me.

You're joking, right? Halo 3's pacing is terrible because of those two equipment pick-ups.

One thing I'm curious about is 343's approach to MP this time around. With H5 they were really heavy on the "Competitive and Casual MP should feel the same" line of thinking, leading to AR/Pistol base spawns and automatic weapons getting buffed for H5 to be competitively viable. Those autos ended up dominating comp H5, and then having to be nerfed. I wonder how they're going to go about it this time. 

If that AR/Sidearm loadout is the base loadout for the game, that's going to be the worst part of Halo 2, 3, and Reach multiplayer coming back. Hot take here but Automatic Weapon starting spawns really don't have a place in Halo.
