Interacting with the community on a large scale at the places they reside, and implementing community suggestions is vital to the success of a game.

I could go on for days. Put community first, and the fans will come.

that's pretty awesome.

The thing shit GaaS is that the code base needs to target rapid response. i bet there's so much legacy code in halo that every little tweak or change takes forever to implement.

hopefully with h6 they are taking their time, in part to make sure that their tools can allow for iteration without so much delay.

i always said that community tools, not gameplay innovation has been the lifeforce of halos growth.

CE was all about splitscreen and lan

H2 revolutionized xbl and matchmaking

H3 brought forge and theater

The franchise grew despite mechanically regressing.

then after that, innovation around community stalled and regressed. they started altering gameplay, when really they should have been becoming more reactive to how the community wanted to consume halo. this is why the Reach's contempt for esports is so mystifying. then fast forward to now: we can't even talk in a lobby or party up with recent players.

in today's market, maintaining that community is all about constant engagement & instant response. this is another reason by why think the "Social hub" of H6 needs to be modeled after Social media practices- take what people are doing in forge and in custom games and instantly add that to the MM experience- no red tape.

the ideas that are trending in the community need to be front and center at all times. the tech HAS to be in place for this to happen. Sea of Theives is being built around that concept.

Forgot to mention this.

@GrimBrother One, if you want to be an INSTANT rock star to this community, find out what they did to the aiming mechanics between the beta and the full release.

You don't have to promise us you'll change it. We know you can't do that. Just tell us what the heck happened, and you will be God around here.

343 (and generally a lot of devs) sadly have the same relationship an adult has with children. The "Oh that's great that you think that but the adults are in the room". It creates bad blood and lots of negative emotions on both sides. We're all just people who grew up playing a game that we love and we hate to see it how it is nowadays.

Also, I think this community is absolutely a valuable resource, as do several folks around here. And really, every community corner has their "take their Oddball and go home" people (I like that one lol) - I interact pretty heavily with lore/narrative-focused communities, so uh... yeah, trust me, you guys aren't the only ones who can be... interesting to deal with ;-)

So how do you feel about black undersuits?

Some of this also just has to deal with the nature of movement within the studio; it's pretty common for folks to be moving positions or have roles and responsibilities change internally, creating a situation where they can't necessarily interact outside like they used to. Obviously communicating those things better can be super helpful, but sometimes it's just easier than you think for stuff to fall by the wayside unintentionally but understandably.

Well, I hope you can find the gumption to stick around. That would make you very unique.

This community has a lot of love to give. Trust me, we've been storing it up with mo outlet for almost a decade.

I do remember a post from someone at 343 saying the auto aim was dialed down one notch during the beta. If auto aim is a 4 now, it was a 3 during the beta. And yes I understand there are a lot more mechanics to aiming than just the magnetism.

So how do you feel about black undersuits?

I think that Bonnie Ross has confirmed black undersuits in Dice summit last year. Dont have link, but maybe someone finds it.

Kinda sucks how there's no reason for AMs to be playing for the next couple months or so. I know HCS has improved a shit ton in the last few months but I wish we were at the point where we always knew at least roughly what is happening in the league 6 months in advance.

Regionals is an Open event if I am not mistaken.

there's 3 open LANs in the next 2 months (non HCS but still)

Gamers for Giving is always an AMAZING event, i think turnout will be good for that one

i'm gonna be pretty pissed if they don't announce the next HCS season at worlds (again)

there is literally no better time, but then again I understand that things are always much more complicated than they seem and there's a lot of $ involved so they might not have anything to announce right away

it's top 16 invite only

This has been your daily "How Many Subs Does Ninja Have Again?" broadcast.

Tune in tomorrow for more of the same.

While we're at it, lets do another update as well. Our ex-Halo pro just broke into the top 5 most followed Twitch channels. And as far as I'm aware, Twitch prime-juiced aside, he is now the most subbed to channel outside of Geek & Sundry.
