AGL Atlanta 9 Discussion

Recommended Posts

I really wish they would have an AGL event in Florida :(

Atlanta is really close... unless you live in southern Florida. Then it is still kind of close.

Yeah I live in Tampa.  If it was in Orlando, Miami, or even Jacksonville I would attend and compete.  But sadly, that's my location range limit.

I think AGL need to consider the Pros and Cons of having so many events, and to me, the Cons outweigh the Pro's.

Having so many events is always going to yield less good teams attending. It's not like the teams outside of top 4 (and even in Top 4 prize money sometimes) can go to an event every month; It's too costly.

Reduce the number of events and increase the prize money is all I can suggest. The prize money will increase from the increase in team passes sold if you reduce the number of events.

On a seperate note, I thought AGL 8 was great. Stream was so much better, teams were amazing, commentary was top notch (shoutout to Goldenboy to coming into a game he still isn't 100% with doing a great job).

Looking forward to see what happens at FPS Fest/AGL 9, but I feel it will be an anti-climax after what we just witnessed. Hoping for a Naded event win.

It would be a shame if the representation for Halo in a Halo/COD dual event turns out to be the equivalent of the turnout of the AGL Pittsburgh event (Where only a handful of players from the top teams went and many did so with makeshift teams).

The silver lining is that it may give the teams in that 6-12 range a chance to stand out, make a name for themselves, and realistically compete for the money.

If AGL can manage an Orlando event (or really, any FL event) sometime soon, that'd be great. Atlanta isn't that far away from Tampa, but it's still a 6.5 hour drive (assuming good traffic), not exactly short, and plane tickets are expensive as hell.

Why is nobody going to the event

I know its close but thats like easy money

Several top pros have confirmed setting vacation time for that weekend.  They didn't think AGL would throw another event three weeks after this one.

There's no point for pros to go to an AGL event with hardly any pro teams going. I mean, the events already have a weak payout to begin with when it is heavily attended (AGL 8). Unless you place top 4 at an AGL event you lose money because of travel and there isn't lots of time for these teams to practice

Ambush is the only full team that told me they're going.

Anyone know where I find more information regarding the spectator passes? I assume I can buy one from the UMG site for $15 + fees and watch Black Ops II and Halo 4 all weekend as I please, but I haven't read anything that confirms that.

AGL AUSTIN!!!

I honestly thought Sq was a fluke on friday. Boy did they prove me wrong.

In terms of taming the trolls, why not do that whole log in to facebook thing? or have subscriber only mode when games are on. If you wanted to get serious you should t/o at first and if the person keeps trolling then why not IP ban? I know that would require some work but it would prevent all the unnecessary trolling.

I think it's silly that because Ambush lost 1 event, that they should disband or drop someone. They won 4 events in a row before finally losing, why would you disband because of that lol? Sometimes you don't always play at your best and sometimes people play better.

With that said i think if Ambush were to drop someone it owuld most likely be Heinz for Roy, but that's not happening anytime soon.

I know they do this for FG events. I would have no problem with this. I'm not a subscriber either. I know our community is really immature and would cry so hard about this. I remember during the Halo 4 Exhibition for MLG there was someone streaming on twitch and people watched it on that instead so they could chat instead of supporting MLG and showing MLG that people will watch.

AGL could dedicate some time towards finding some good mods for their twitch chat.

Whether known streamers with good standing, or known community members, hell, I'd even settle for non-Halo community members if it means the chat looks a little bit better lol.

Just putting it out there that I'd be willing to volunteer. I see so many porn links that the mods can't catch very quickly.

in addition to spreading out the events I think AGL needs better advertising.  From what I have seen from the teams, twitter, and the stream it does not seem they are attracting new players to the tournaments. They are just relying on old MLG halo players

buy ads at the local university paper or even high school. they are pretty cheap and  good target audience.

Going to possibly be my first 'halo' event since 2010 at MLG Halo 3.

I mean the cool thing about this event is that there is a big FFA and a 2v2 which will be a lot of fun and I kinda want to see what a COD event is like to watch in person. Want to know if it is entertaining.

I knew Ambush wouldnt last, but I didnt think Formal would be the first to go.

No doubt in my mind that it's Roy as the new 4th

edit: Formal might be trolling...
