I hate how Icy,the one who got punched and lost a damn tooth,is being punished also. Ban Godplays from gears, make him pay a fine towards Icy.

Just because you took the most damage, doesn't mean you didn't also help elevate the conflict to a place it didn't need to go.

Technically the fight didn't happen at the event venue. It happened at a casino the night before the event.

ohhh okay i didn't know that, that IS different but i still think a "lifetime" ban would be appropriate

he also probably could have removed himself from the situation but i'm just talking out of my ass

So, correct me if I misunderstand, but it sound like, gameplay wise, at least, you'd want something similar to Halo 5, minus sprint (and maybe a couple other of the less favorable Spartan Abilities)?

I'd be happy with that. Some weapon balance tweaking would be nice. Plus, you know, working hit detection and aim. Decent servers wouldn't hurt either

1. He wasn't acting high and mighty at all.

2. I fail to see how. Seeing behind the scene was a huge reason people liked Bungie back in their Halo days (at least from what I saw). Seeing behind the scenes would give people a better understanding of what goes into the game, the people behind it, and allow fans to provide better and more constructive criticism when they have complaints.

And I'd argue they have done their jobs. Unless you can think of a more qualified dev to take over Halo?

How would you argue they've done their jobs? From the POW of the comp community, they released a broken game, didn't address any of its issues until 18 months after the fact and then when they only arguably took a pass at fixing the first issue, they broke something else.

How am I, as a person who dropped $60 on the game plus a stupid amount of money on the franchise, plus time spent supporting the community, supposed to see that as anything but incompetence or lack of effort?

i do feel bad for the 343 people who are outward facing employees because they can literally only say so much

they know mcc is a broke mess, they know the servers are trash, but they can't come out and say that

dont read too much into this, it's just generally how i feel about people who work for game devs

i could agree with this if he weren't bitching about the community with no real provocation. this wasnt someone complaining about that one time the aiming felt weird or him having to answer for a patch status when that isnt his job. its just a "well they dont even know" used to deflect criticism which has gotten us nowhere and created this chasm between the fans and the devs

i know development is tough and i can respect how much time really goes into it. plus i'm willing to bet that there is a ton of red tape. i just wish the communication was more open and less hostile towards the negative feedback to the game's direction and functionality.

No, lifetime bans are rarely ever reasonable. A fight even inside the venue on a main stage still wouldn't be worthy of a lifetime ban.

Great pickup for Str8 in Kaotic. He was by far the best player on ABCDE and was easily the top AM outside of OS that was available. Commonly  wasn't helping this team get better and this team already had obj players in Rayne and Heinz and needed a slayer/

So should people not talk shit anymore then just because it might lead to a fight? There goes gears.

What would be worthy of a lifetime ban, in your opinion?

Just picking your brain.

I think a lifetime ban would require several things or one major issue

Such as:

Being involved in X number of physical altercations

Being suspended from events X number of times

Causing major injury to another/Hospitilization

Verbal or Written threats (This would be more case by case then all of the above)

Look at Malice at the Palace, a player literally punched a fan and didn't get a lifetime ban.

Theres a baseball brawl almost every month and I don't see lifetime bans being handed out. Also, many players have been in multiple brawls with no lifetime ban.

For first time offenses.....I don't know. Off the top of my head I can't think of many outside of the obvious major felonies. Grand theft, murder, rape, etc.

I get all that too. I'm not for life time bans, but those are the only acceptable grounds in my opinion. If I was a TO and the same player kept getting into fights, being aggressive to sponsors/staff/etc. I'd eventually say they were done playing in tournaments I was running. It'd have to be an outlier though.

true but that's because the players association

fyi halo pros, this is why you should organize, you could start teeing off on people  :lxthul:

if i was in charge of a dev ran esport (which the purpose of is to sell the game) i wouldn't want any irl violence or even the threat of violence associated with my game

and this is coming from someone who loves violence, there is a time and a place

lol no, nobody is saying that, well i'm not anyway. People should recognize when "trash talk" has gone too far and they need to simmer down, not double down.  They also need to keep it within the context of the game.

This is something that gets glossed over a lot, there are a shit ton of politics and business goals from the top that interfere with decisions - often times the "foot soldiers" who are on the ground see more and know more but aren't listened too
