Yeah it's pretty bad. between all that and Bezos supporting a $15 an hour minimum wage just so it hurts its competitors, I'm not a huge fan right now.

rofl you have absolutely no right to be pissed about that, predatory money practices are capitalism in a nutshell.

Also everyone on the left knew Avenatti was a piece of filth.

From a news article I read this morning.

Palm Beach tried to recount the votes using their eleven year old machines, but the machines began to overheat.

If you haven't spit out your drink yet, get this... They are bringing in a mechanic to "FIX" the machines so that they can do a recount.

The primary reason we humans put ourselves on a pedestal and dictate a position of 'authority' over the animals is largely due to our apparent intellectual and technological superiority. But, if our intellect and technology is all the reason to enslave and kill lower-living beings, why not harbor the same attitude towards the disabled and mentally ill, many of whom are lower in intelligence than animals?

The simple answer is that sentience, not intelligence, is the only prerequisite for moral conduct towards others. I recognize that I have no legitimate 'authority' over the animals for the same reason I have no ‘authority’ over the mentally disabled: Both groups are sentient and share the capacity for suffering.

"If it is unjust to cause a human being undeserved pain, then it must also be unjust to cause an innocent animal undeserved pain." - Tom Regan

It is morally abhorrent to violate and cause suffering to any being that has the capacity to be violated. One does not need to possess intellect, or moral agency, to be wronged. Animals may not be moral agents (this is debatable), but they are, most certainly, moral patients; therefore it would be cruel and unjust to cause unnecessary harm and suffering.

It is safe to conclude, then, that the rearing and butchering of farm animals, for something so trivial as momentary taste pleasure, causes immense pain and suffering to innocent animals, and is, therefore, cruel and unjust.

This should be sufficiently obvious to anyone of sound mind and a pure heart.

No of course not, nothing is more feminist than (possibly) beating a woman.

Actually, it's the fault of a government that is too large and powerful. There should be no government tax cuts or subsidies.

Also, no. Avenatti was held up as a leader in the #MeToo moment. He had thousands and thousands of retweets every time he typed on twitter and was interviewed on CNN, so "EVERYONE" is an over statement.

He is just a creepy porn lawyer.

Things like predatory pricing are the government's fault?

No. Everyone was already on to Avenatti's bullshit.

Amazon cut a lot of employee benefits to get that wage increase. People that are ( not Democrats) realize that the money value of those benefits exceeded the wage hikes. People that are ( Democrats) are clapping their hands.

Also it's funny that the stupid Mayor of New York acknowledges you have to cut taxes to attract businesses. Well no fucking shit. But why do it just for Amazon?

Democrats: corporations should pay more taxes.

Also Democrats: We are going to give Amazon huge tax beaks and incentives to come here.

All capitalists eventually lead to crony capitalists. That is how capitalism works. There is no such thing as pure capitalism. It is all state derived capitalism.

You can't have crony capitalism without big government. A simple change to a flat tax would solve it instantly.

Also, me thinks you might be stupid. Me means No offense.

If you said every system is subject to corruption because human beings are assholes, then you would be smart again. But I know you're a socialist advocate so I'm gonna leave you in the dumb box for now.

You can't have capitalism without governance. There is no example in human history that provides a dictionary example of capitalism. Sorry but you are empirically wrong again.

Where do you think rules come from? Think very hard.

Capitalism and the state are both connected and one has never existed without the other.

Wrong. Rules come from the state. The state rules through a claim to the legitimate use of violence to enforce laws.

This dynamic is foreign to any notion of capitalism because the state lays claim (through use of force) to different rules to that of the governed.

You also cannot have an accurate price mechanism without the state. Nor a common agreed upon currency.

But to answer honestly. We have a two party system with very subtle differences, yet people argue like the opposing side is evil/stupid. The system is rigged. Big businesses dump huge amounts of money to bend the rules. I get that. However, that's not capitalism or big governments fault entirely. It's the people that vote. If they stopped voting for people that do that shit, it would stop. But most people will vote D or R because they identify with D or R.

Refusing to vote (which is the only institutional mechanism to allow for change) in an otherwise totalitarian system is stupid. It gives up the thing people before you died for. It is no coincidence that the authorities try as hard as they can to suppress voter turnout. I'm not saying voting solves everything, it is a tool to be used in accordance to others (a diversity of tactics) to shape the world to what you see as more fairer. Fairness can be achieved in spite of the government. It is a necessary evil and can be shaped to create fairness.

This is why everyone regardless of political persuasion or opinion should support Ocasio-Cortez. The term Democratic Socialist is a silly label.

She is supporting full employment, sensible price stability, leaving resources for the sick so no one is left behind and providing education opportunities for all.

None of these are 'free shit' examples. It is equality of opportunity.

The real farce is Democrat and Republican fiscal policy designed to deny people work and subject them to welfare and ridicule.

Welfare by design is degenerative and price inflationary.

Nope. Cortez is actually a stupid. She reminds me of the type of girl I would hook up with easily in college. They say "like" in every sentence. Probably would use your toothbrush if she stayed the night.
