there was an amusing thread on r/opticgaming asking what people would do if they were suddenly the manager of optic halo. You get a DM from HECZ and suddenly you are in charge of the roster- what do you do? i thought the second comment in this pic was pretty amusing in reference to optic halo dropping maniac/aPG and picking up snip3down-

"You cant just take players like that, this is halo. The snipedown, lunchbox, roy trio has been a halo trademark. it is highly unlikely that they would split."

What does it say that you need a controller with additional buttons on the back just to compete? What a shame.

Some of the best players in the world don't use paddles

I started playing today after ~2 months off. For all the talk H5 gets of being a "smooth" feeling game, it is without exaggeration, the clunkiest shooter I've ever played. It seems that most people feel like it's a "smooth" game with good movement just based on the sheer amount of constant input required. Sprint, thrust, crouch-slide, jump, clamber... etc. And of course, we've all heard enough about the aiming. What's "smooth" about this? 60 FPS?

What does it say that you need a controller with additional buttons on the back just to compete? What a shame. An even bigger shame is the shitty build quality of MS's $150 controller.

I played a few games today too. I barely play an hour a week at best so I'm not any good but it really does feel like I'm walking around in a knights suit of steel armor with thrusters duct taped to my ankles.

Just not a game that makes me want to keep playing, no matter how hard I try/how bad I want it to be.

I think Mikwen and Snakebite claw, as well as many others.

Well then the options are either claw or paddles. Not saying much imo.

Claw is a tactical advantage over worse players who choose not to learn it

To be better you have to actually learn stuff

You know, like every sport or competitive thing ever

You cannot compete by holding a standard controller normally.

Let that sink in.
