Halo World Championship 2016 Teams, Seeds, and Discussion‏

Heres something that hasn't really been brought up yet:

Do you guys think if Maniac got a good opportunity to team with a really good team after Worlds (the way hes been playing the last couple weeks has been insane), that would he leave Optic?

@@LethuL As a professional gamer currently playing in this tourney, if MLG asked you guys if you would replay your games and you knew they had a disadvantage due to their abysmal audio situation, would you do it?

It'd be easy for you to say no since A) wasn't your guys' fault and B)A lot of money is on the line.

In my opinion it is on MLG to make that call. I don't think they will which is disappointing from both a spectator and fans' perspective, but also for the teams that were at disadvantage.

no lol, our match was very first for one and they could have delayed it right there since nothing was behind. Sucks but there's 0 chance they replay that. Sure it might not have been 100% fair for blue team even though I think it was a solvable problem but that's also not fair to the teams that won the day before.

"Redneck" is a slur for working class white people from the south. You're also generalizing about them being incestuous. It's 2016, man. I think you need some sensitivity training so that you won't contribute to escorts being looked down upon.

Time to drop this.

Not the place to discuss these things.

No replays will happen. Not a single competitor said "hey we aren't playing until this obvious audio issue is rectified". That shocks me considering the weight of these matches.

I gave you neg rep since thats your + rep

I think he'd stay with Optic for the continued exposure under the Optic name.

Probably not. Maniac is probably making more money from his Youtube content and Twitch grind then he's made questionably ever playing Halo. He's on his way out. He's getting older and theres way to much fresh talent in the field now. He's got 1-2 years tops competing at a sub par top level or he can utilize the Optic brand and build a career out of content creation.

Ahhh I'm about to get down voted to hell... oh well. May I ask why you think it was a solvable problem? All blue team complaints were made and dismissed by event staff. Every single team issued a complaint and every single team was told "That's how they all are" or "nothing we can do". So, my question to you, since you think it was solvable, what would your solution have been?

Not saying this is an ideal solution, but the players COULD have boycotted playing. MLG clearly had those Astros in storage and ready to go.

The players needed to give MLG no option BUT to fix the situation. They should not have played through it. Whats MLG going to do? Cancel the tournament and have NO teams from NA play in the WC? Yeah, right.

And you know I'm not trying to rain on your parade. You're my boy. But the players as a collective should have absolutely done more if it was as big as an issue as it was.

No winning team is going to want to replay the games rather it was unfair or not.

IMO it shouldn't be up to the Pro's to want or not. It would be MLG to make that decision if it came to it. MLG has to be the unbiased Refs. They shot themselves in the foot for not taking care of it right away and that's why they are getting backlash.

Little less than a hour away!  Day 2 should be super hype.

Also, someone needs to tell Goofy to spend a little less time around Louis. Wanna talk about blatantly obvious? lmao

i don't know if everyone is dealing with different people than me or not but we have had audio problems before each series and we have just addressed it and they got up there and messed with all of the stuff and ended up fixing it. it sucks it wasn't fixed but from the sounds of it people could have been more assertive, they aren't going to dq anyone for having 1 player on the team say he literally can't communicate with anyone else.

when you log onto the forums and see someone arguing in favor of slurs instead of talking about day 2 of Regionals

If every player that lobbied a complaint was really told these things, it's hard to see how it was a solvable problem. I mean, I guess they could have refused to play or something, but I imagine it's hard to see a big picture plan in the moment and if the refs are being that wildly incompetent it would be very difficult to trust that they wouldn't just DQ you.

It really sucks for all players (including those who didn't have audio issues) that MLG allowed it to happen at all.

So no chance for a full day replay?

Idk how it'd even be possible to do this from a logistical standpoint. Not enough hours in the day, and I doubt enough of the players/orgs on the winning teams would buy in.

Also, I just want to take a moment to say @@GoldenboyFTW has been fantastic so far and I have zero complaints. Not trying to D-ride, but keep doing what you're doing.  You and all the other analysts/casters are doing a great job.

If it was a solvable problem, yet wasn't solved (and brought up by the pros) then its on MLG. MLG should make the situation right and play replays. They are providing a service, and did not solve a problem that is "solvable." Unacceptable practice there.
