  1. It's funny how people here complain about MCC HCE hit reg off host. It's actually MUCH easier to shoot off host than it is to shoot on host, no matter how far away the host/server is from you. It's basically XBC in reverse. Most of the kids complaining about hit registration here would cry if they actually hosted games, and would call their mothers after 5 minutes of playing OG Halo. This is Halo 1, boys. You're not going to constantly hit those 3 shots if you're not making an effort. I am not surprised that some of you prefer H3 over CE. I've been playing the game a lot the past month and it's actually OK. Of course online is frustrating but I don't recall a game that was not frustrating when played online... But hey, I'm in France and I can play with Colombians in decent conditions, and I don't even have fiber optics! I just wish they made the system link exactly the same as OG Halo and brought back the PR stun. shotgun should be more consistent too. If they can make aiming with the pistol a tad harder off host, that would be cherry on the cake... but for now, PLEASE BRING BACK THE REAL OG SYSTEM LINK! Just port it! That's all we want! This way, the players that are unhappy with the way online feels right now could just play on XLAN or xlink Kai and experience the good old XBC lead. That's all we need, really! We're not asking much, are we?
  2. I played the game for the first time in like two years yesterday, and it's just as bad as it used to be. We should never forget that the Halo CE we have in MCC is a port of Halo PC, and hence a totally different game. It's just too easy to shoot when you're off host. Random people three shot me like they attend beach lans every other week
  3. In Europe, we used to call Halo 1 either PAL or NTSC depending on which version we were talking about (European or American). There were also several PAL versions: PAL FR/GER, PAL UK, PAL ITA/SP. You were not able to play against each other if you didn't own the exact same version. NTSC is the shit: faster, more smooth & 60 hz
  4. I LOVE split screen. It is probably the thing I love most about Halo 1. However, playing splitscreen against guys who are not on the same box is a bit unfair. To make it fair, I think the split screen box should host all the games.
  5. talking about ways to ruin the HCE online experience is nothing but ridiculous. Aren't we all wishing to play the best game in the best conditions? You can be sure that I'll make clips of all the laggy motherf***** I'll encounter and make sure all my friend list reports them as cheaters.
  6. You do have to lead more for sure, but not that much, and when it comes to being accurate, the game is way more forgiving with people with high pings. Everyone has a better pistol on cross Atlantic hosts for that reason.
  7. There isn't ANY compensation you say...? I assume you don't play often on European hosts, let alone on your own host to say that. I'm not going to lie, I play a lot on US hosts and pistoling is far easier than on any European host, especially since the last patch was released, and this is because of compensation, nothing else. I don't know of you have played XBC on American hosts before, but if you have you should know what it is like to play with zero compensation. On Mcc, the amount of cross map three shots I get on american hosts is just ridiculous, especially on Hang em high, where pistoling is the hardest on host. However, because of the high ping, grenades and rockets are quite delayed and this counterbalances the easy pistoling on some maps. Shooting rockets precisely on prisoner or chill out is super hard for instance, and one can forget about nade kills, especially death nades. Overall, I wouldn't say it is easier to play on high ping hosts, but pistoling and sniping is for sure.
  8. We're not playing the same game. I just go for camo all the time on MCC. I used to give priority to rocks over camo on BC but now it's the other way around. Camo has always been very powerful on dammy but it's just ridiculous on MCC.
  9. I'm afraid it's going to be very hard for 343 to make it harder to shoot off host since there is compensation. Hopr they will find a solution though.
  10. Hosting feels a bit more like OG now, which makes me prefer hosting since it's more challenging. Although aiming might be too easy for my opponents, it feels very good when I outpistol someone because I know that I deserved to win the duel. I agree with ThreeShotPistol when he says it's ok if they leave host this way as soon as they make aiming off host as hard as on host.
  11. It's not just death nades but nades in general. They are f***** up. I kill so many people on OG with nades alone. They are very effective since they come out at the exact moment you pull the trigger. On that crappy MCC, nades come out WAY too late. And we spawn with only 2 nades that won't work properly. Nades are supposed to be OG's most useful tool together with the pistol. I'm surprised you guys keep talking about the pistol whereas all I've mentioned regarding nades is game breaking and is the biggest MCC issue IMO. Yes, pistol is noobified for sure but it's OK, I've played with the best MCC players and I can tell you I can feel the difference in skill between a good and a bad player when it comes to pistolling. But nades... Nades are awful. Ho yeah, and rockets have the same problem too! The fact that camo is so hard to see and that rocket shots are so delayed is making the camo the most powerful item of the game.

  13. Pistoling feels too easy for sure, but it's definitely not the worst thing about this game. The more I play it, the more I had the grenades not coming out fast enough. Same for the rockets. Could be because I play a lot on us hosts although I'm in France but I know that even on hosts that are close to you, this happens as well and it's quite disturbing
  14. HeH is the shit. Dammy is my least favourite of the played maps. It's boring and there isn't much going on on it. HeH is much more action oriented.
