  1. Hey guys, Beach Lan and UGC are working together this year to bring a new level of competition and hype in the Halo:CE community. The Beach Lan 2v2 tournament will be a blast and award prizes/gifts as always but there is a new incentive this year in the tournament: the top 4 finalists of the Beach Lan tournament will receive seed priority at UGC Atlantic City and their tournament passes paid for. All other teams entering the UGC 2v2 Atlantic City tournament will be randomly seeded. Both tournaments will be on/off host. UGC Atlantic City tournament will be double elimination. Donations for the Beach Lan and its tournament Prize Pool can be sent to: PayPal: [email protected] Venmo: @jwm03g -Catch the BeachLan matches on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/beachlan Donations for the UGC Atlantic City Prize Pool can be sent to: TBA UGC Atlantic City 2v2 Passes: Passes Can be purchased at https://ugcstore.gg/product/ugc-halo-classic-halo-ce-2v2-side-event/ -Passes also include free play at the H1 stations on Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Catch the UGC matches at Twitch: Hope to see everyone on the beach and in Atlantic City for some gg's
  2. So you've lanned via this setup on LCDs and it was successful?
  3. https://ugcevents.gg/haloclassic/ I don't check this forum as much as I use to so sorry if repost but here is a big tourney in STL coming up for all you H3 guys. A bunch of my H1 bros will be in town hanging out and lanning also. There is also a possible H1 2v2 side tourney if it gets the votes. You can vote here
  4. Because you will be able to lan them in their original form on new equipment and not fucking 15 year tube tvs and old dusty og boxes.
  5. -Offhost has more shot lead. -Offhost aiming/movement is a bit stiff for a lack of better words. Imagine you have tiny weights on your wrists and ankles while the other team has no weights tied to them. There is a clear disadvantage but a better team or exceptional performance can easily beat the host team.
  6. Is Beyond going to be supporting the LAN officially also?
  7. I'd bet money at least half a station will always be streaming.
  8. I think NHE will and should be the new standard for LAN from the little I've played(40 games). I think a lot of people are making poor choices though in their setup and are not getting optimal results because of it. The last versions of the original xbox or halo edition("green box") xbox NEEDS to be the host box and the two offhost boxes should be identical versions. We used brand new network cables, and a green box as host box...it plays amazing. Less frame drop and minimal shot lead. If you haven't tried NHE in its optimal setup you're missing out.
  9. I just check the site randomly to check for updates on Halo PC: The Xbox Experience, H1 in general, and just to see what the overall community is up to. I didn't go to Beach Lan last year because of school but will be attending this year and our crew's first spring lan is next week in Indy
  10. Solid and articulate rant but with every sequel as evidence...you're just pissing in the wind. And you're obviously intelligent enough to already know this so I don't get why you keep at it. Just go lan H1 or play whatever sequel you like with cool people and don't worry about trying to convince dumb people to stop being dumb.
  11. I posted this in general to see if maybe other lan groups might get inspired to try this because I know we haven't in a longggg time and it seemed like a fun thing to do one last time while MCC has caused a resurgence in H1. Were hosting just a small one day lan this Saturday for several new and intermediate players to come play and meet other players of relatively the same skill locally. Some of us are just too experienced to play the newcomers and those games are no fun for either side. I want to try and let a new intermediate lan group be formed who then can progress and challenge teams or participate in lans with higher skilled players down the road. I have no problem helping players out or giving advice but I don't have the time to teach players from scratch while also weeding out casuals who have no real drive to progress once they plateau for the first time. I am also doing this because I don't like this current skewed perception of the H1 OG community all being assholes. If you have the drive to play, dont mind driving 45min(or however far) and you're not a serial killer, we'll welcome you with open arms. But truely fresh players with no H1 experience have to first progress through the basics and thats why creating a new seperate intermediate group seemed like a healthy solution and also gives the players a practical goal of competing and playing at the bigger lans. We don't want to shut the doors on anyone but most fresh players just can't hang due to the gigantic skill gap. Our whole crew(IL,MO,IN,OH,TN and fucking Bonesaw swag surfin down from MN) get together once every couple months or less for the past 8 years with players still randomly dropping in from all over to lan with us. Ya know why? Cause all of the 20+ people are all friends. We love the game and the competition it brings. I think most groups all over gave up a long time ago searching for unknown devoted players but with MCC released it has created a new oppurtunity to expand or refresh lan groups. Additionally, the big Indiana lan is next week also so if any players are interested in that you can pm finny or myself and a station there will be streamed. tl;dr: noob lan with one advanced station. all noobs allowed so they can meet other noobs and make new noob lan group to play toward the goal of not being a noob and coming to big boy lans  Also, have any other lan groups advertised recently? Its honestly been ages since we've done this.
  12. You should talk to Devilman about the VA LAN this year and I'm guessing he would also have some info on NY players. I'm guessing @@Patch Stay could point you in the right direction also.
  13. Thanks for the info and I'll send it their way, but I was honestly just trying to be a one-time platform for the new guys to socialize and establish their own group and now I'm gonna step back. Once I hear the intermediates are actually lanning and committed to improving I will send them info about other groups and above average skilled players but I won't do that until I hear of real progress.
  14. We had about new 4 intermediate players show up, 3 new knowledgeable players with serious potential to improve, and then we had us 5 comprised of very experienced players. I was disappointed because 3 fresh players got cold feet and didn't show but we still had 3 full stations running. 2 of the already knowledgeable players will be attending our big LAN this weekend in Indiana and possibly the 3rd player also. I wish the novice players that backed out would have shown up so the pool of intermediates was a bit larger for when they get together to LAN in the future. Overall, it was a success and I loved overhearing the words, "Jesus this is so much better than MCC."
  15. And more nonsense from the pleb. Anyway good luck with your tourney and I sincerely hope it works out for the best. Lan in Indiana March 20th, message me or finny for details!
  16. Yes, because for several pages and many other threads you just anatagonize or say superbly stupid shit. So if you want to act like a little ******** kid, I'll ignore you like I would a little ******** kid. Example: Ogre2 and TOXIN 4LIFEBRO
  17. I complimented Teapot and then made mention that this donation might be better used at an OG lan like Beach Lan where the tourney could be streamed and shoutcasted. Than you both got butthurt when I I gave you logical statements about my distaste for H1 MCC in its current form when compared to OG. I'll just refrain from posting anything that contradicts the Church of Shitty MCC. Fuckin forum monkeys, BACK YA DIRTY APES.
  18. I complimented him dude...I feel like im talking to a barking dog
  19. It's not about pride. Why would I want to play an inferior game? I play H1 cause still because every other shooter is inferior.
  20. The top players of OG (and the rest of the OG community for that matter) would care if it was worth their time meaning the game was Halo 1 not Halo PC. The differences between the two games are that HUGE. Why play a game that is less fun and less competitive than the original? 343 is making improvements to the game for sure but its not even close to being in the same ballpark as OG yet. When is the last time more than half of you touched an OG xbox, played halo, and then went home to play H1 MCC for comparison? The original game truely does take that more skill and precision. If you want to show members how good Halo 1 is, then put up the money for an OG tourney at a big annual lan and have it streamed and shoutcasted in-house. That would mean player interviews, actual announcing and casting of tourney for H1 for the first time ever, and an experience no one has ever seen from the Halo 1 community in the post-H2 era. If you just give in and start supporting a sub-par game, we will never get what we really want...HALO:CE in pure form on every future console.
  21. You're doing the lord's work @@Teapot. Now if Beyond just partnered with UGC again and hosted/streamed OG 2v2 tourney at UGC studio. Than hopefully proceed to watch 343 proceed to fix the game and remove Halo PC from MCC because of fan demand. Not ever gonna happen but a man can dream. P.S. Yogi commentates tourney in a leisure suit with scotch on the rocks in hand.
