  1. Anybody looking to run H3 hardcore, add my GT: DOBZY
  2. Halo 3 1. Keep it as non-hitscan but improve the netcode for shot registration (especially not on LAN) 2. Buff the pistol 3. Multi-host instead of single host
  3. I seriously am confused to this day how anybody who is a fan of the Halo series from the beginning can even stomach to put the Halo 5 disc into their XBox. To each their own, but god damn. Some people must be a glutton for misery.
  4. My Halo 5 Strategy Guide: 1. Remove disc from XBox (or case if properly used) 2. Snap disc in half and discard into trash 3. Do anything else with your time 4. ??? 5. Profit
  5. I would rather eat a bucket of nails then watch people crouch and AR on Halo 5.
  6. Mixed playlists are poop. If people sign on to play BTB on H3, why would you expect them not to quit if Halo 1 gets selected? Because of some moral obligation to satisfy other's desires? Blaming the users rather than 343 is absurd, as unless you have no job or no life and can just afford to play games all day until you get what you want, most people have limited time to play and want to make the most of the limited time they have, because that's the point of gaming -- to enjoy the experience. I usually don't have more than 45 minutes a day to play video games because of being an old man with a demanding job, hobbies, etc., so I'm sorry if it ruins your day if I don't give a crap about Halo 1 BTB but you best believe if that's what gets voted I'm going to be betraying everything in my sight until I get booted. If you have a problem with that, contact 343.
  7. There should be no sprint, anything that takes Halo farther away from its core of structuring around gunplay should not be included. I don't need to sprint, ground pound, shoulder charge, and clamber to feel immersed. I need to be able to walk, strafe, and jump. That's it. Scale the maps appropriately.
  8. Add GT: DOBZY for Evolved Customs. Just shoot me a message that it's for Evolved, as I can't stomach to play anything other than this.
  9. A way to "exploit" the system is when you start off to only get bronze and silver packs until you've unlocked all the lower level requisitions, and once those are no longer available it will start refunding you part of the REQ points you spent on the packs. From there, if you purchase gold packs, you will basically be guaranteed to pull nothing but ultra rares or legendary cards as everything in the lower tiers has already been acquired.
  10. I am terrified of adding people from Waypoint or Reddit lol
  11. Does anybody know if there is a thread or list of people who actively play H3 customs? I just can't take H5 anymore (though I've hardly been able to take it, I think I have like 60-70 games of Arena total and Warzone is just boring), and I'm trying to find people to play some competitive real Halo with as Team Hardcore has been dead for months.
  12. If anybody is looking to play H3 customs, please add me: Do13zilla [that's a 1 and a 3, not a B]
  13. I wish kids who made Halo montages over the past few years paid attention to why this is amazing. It's not about getting huge multi-kills against morons in stupid gametypes, it's about being creative and making impossible small plays that completely demoralize opponents and leave you thinking and learning at the same time.
  14. Halo 4 in some regards looked really nice, while in other facets (or forge type palets) looked really poor. It was markedly better than Halo Reach. Halo 3 is surely the standard for how a Halo game is supposed to look. Even 8 years later the game looks gorgeous from an aesthetic standpoint.
  15. Nobody wants to watch vidoes of people banging on scrubs. It reminds me of when people would post videos of H4 gameplays with radar on and ordinances. Give me a break. Might as well just be screaming into the mic "look how bad I am!"
  16. Well at least the beta patch performs consistently with the game it's trying to fix... by not performing at all.
  17. Maybe the lore in H4 campaign was good, but the AI and variety of enemies was abysmal. Halo 4 campaign felt like a grind more than anything. Certainly not immersive outside of a lore perspective.
  18. I can 100% guarantee you that Halo 5 is not going to remove sprint.
  19. I like your last line Cyren, just because it sums up a big part of the problem. Halo used to be a brand that was clearly defineable, but 343 doesn't understand that definition and certainly doesn't know how to build a game from the ground up around that definition. They're trying to merge their brand with CoD, and are ended up looking like the stupid little brother of the older brother who's a moron in his own right.
  20. I share in your frustration and am aligned with your goals, but at the end of the day as long as 343 hits certain profit margins, the quality or direction of the game, especially with regards to eSports, makes absolutely no difference. My theory is that after Halo 4 tanked in epic fashion, Microsoft basically put the heat on them to get it right with Halo 5. While that directive was given, they thought they could boost sales and faith in the company by releasing MCC, and that would have given the company positive momentum going into Halo 5 to hit certain sales goals. In light of MCC still being an absolute joke to this day (nothing short of a complete disaster), the shine from the microscope has gotten even brighter. Halo 5's beta has quickly faded into apathy by the community, and I'm sure they feel they need to cater to the CoD style of FPS as it is outselling Halo by a landslide these days. That doesn't mean it's the right direction for the game, it just means it's an easy solution and costs less in terms of development, because why create your own ideas and balance a game when you can just blatantly steal from other devleopers and call it your own game? Maybe even naively think it will make the game better? Sprint has been consistently shown to not work in the Halo series, yet they are adamant it's going nowhere. ADS was never a part of Halo games, and now it's not going anywhere. Clamber is supposed to be immersive? Yeah, okay... skill jumps are far more rewarding and adds more to the meta of a game than being able to climb around surfaces to instantly get map control. All these things that Halo has been stealing from CoD are not working because CoD is not an arena shooter. Of course at high levels there is some competitive merit to CoD (but then again, what game being played by the best in the world doesn't have competitive merit), but these mechanics simply don't fit into Halo and are degrading the high level of skill that separated Halo from other FPS franchises, and was why the Halo competitive scene was as dominant as it was. People were intrigued by how a difficult game could be made to look so easy by pros back during the glory days of Halo MLG. Now, the skill gap is actively being completely crushed, and the intrigue is no longer there. It'd be like trying to advocate Destiny PvP as a competitive shooter. Sure, it takes some skill to point and shoot, but the game is so stupid and random at the core that nobody would ever be interested in watching it in a competitive format. If you want to make a difference, do what I do and stop spending money on Halo. I won't be buying Halo 5, and I've been playing Halo since CE. I took a three year break from Halo when Halo Reach came out because the game was trash and I refused to see it otherwise. ZBNS was a small band-aid to try and fix an ever evolving problem, and 343 is clearly not the studio that is pointing the franchise in the right direction. If you would want Halo to succeed, don't support the problem. Speak with your money, as that's all what Microsoft and these developers care about, and hopefully the franchise will be handed over to a different developer that can actually apply the time-tested models of what made Halo the most successful console title in history.
  21. Let you shoot while thrusting? That just sounds like a clusterfuck waiting to happen.
  22. Halo Reach and Halo 4 combined only had one good map, and that was Skyline. It's kind of a coincidence that Skyline was the only good map as its geometry and flow of the game negated the need for sprinting in general.
  23. It's hard to picture 18 million sheep.
  24. 343 is a completely incompetent company, but I think it's silly where people hold individuals like Bravo or some of the pros working for them responsible. Like it or not, but professional gaming is not a sustainable career for anybody, at least from a competitive standpoint. if you have a huge stream following that you can keep entertained and sucked in that's great, but that is more to do with entertainment and advertising revenue than actual skill at a game (i.e. PewDiePie). These pro gamers were offered legitimate jobs that are sustainable (to an extent unless the whole studio folds, which isn't an impossibility), so do you really think as an employee you're going to go out and badmouth your employer or publicly disagree with them? No, you're going to tote the company line and do what's asked of you, and even if your input is ignored it doesn't matter as ultimately these guys aren't making the decisions that shape the game. Those decisions are being made by Ross, Ayoub, Quinn, and these guys are so out of touch with actually creating games and are only focused on hitting revenue goals that of course their motivations are not going to cater to the classic Halo model (which is absurd in itself, as they moved away from a guaranteed revenue generating formula on how to create successful Halo games). 343 is just incompetent, and fans of Halo just need to let them fail (by not purchasing Halo 5) so Microsoft will award the franchise in the hopefully near future to a developer who actually knows what they're doing. Some 343 higher ups might get fired in the process, but it doesn't matter as they'll get jobs with other studios since they have experience and the whole cycle will start again, just with another franchise. People dillusioning themselves into thinking that 343 actually cares what the players want is comical, as at the end of the day as long as their product is reaching certain profit margins it doesn't matter if the game is fun, it doesn't matter if the game works, and it certainly doesn't matter if you're going to keep playing the game as long as they got their money upfront.
  25. I tried playing this game on two separate occassions for multiple hour sitdowns, both weeks, and this game just isn't fun. I'm not going to go and rehash the laundry list of reasons of what's wrong with this title, but the important point is it's not fun, and definitely does not feel like Halo.
