  1. Saw it during someones stream many hours ago. No proof but I am pretty sure they said it could be turned off. The user oh4 seems to know about it
  2. Perhaps they were trying to find a way to actually make it work and when it couldnt have been sorted out for launch they gave us the answer. I really doubt they just decided for no reason to wait this long. I would not be surprised if over time we get dedi's in customs or at least renting. They did make a big deal about it and at the same time they never gave specifics. its not 343's fault if everyone assumes custom games AND MM will run on servers when they never stated that. People just need to keep their expectations in check & only get hyped up for the things that are actually confirmed. Its unreasonable to get mad at 343 when they never said customs would have dedi's at launch.
  3. I don't even think there are many PC shooters that just allow dedicated servers customs without renting servers o.O No dedi's in customs was hugely expected. Really surprised at the amount of people that are surprised at this news. yes the ranking system existed in the past on XBOX. Not Xbox one and certainly not in this new algorithm search system they have. They cannot just literally copy& paste the rank system from halo 2. they had to build it from scratch & this type of thing needs alooooot of testing. More than the original development window would allow clearly. I doubt 343 would withhold more ranked playlists just for laughs. I would rather it be fully functional working as they slowly roll it out rather than they roll it all out too fast & it breaks.
  4. This will be very interesting to watch. I wonder how spaced out it will be and how many will be allowed. Maybe unlimited then narrowed down like global championships. I am late to a lot of this information becuase i have been hiding from MCC news to make the wait less agonizing but its impossible to turn my eye to everything going on now ! ヽ(゚Д゚ )ノ
  5. Honestly hope some really good forge makes get put into H2A's matchmaking to offset the limted number of maps =) A good midship remake as well as other classics would be perfect (°□°)
  6. Sounds good. More competitive events like this are really hyping up the community & getting new people hooked on competitive halo (`・ω・´)b
  7. why do you say that ? Did they not say they were going to add it post launch?
  8. Really hard to say =/ I was just thinking about that as well that the size of the map seems bigger. But could resolution play a part in making it seem a lot bigger? Has that been discussed?
  9. Thats crazy i would have never caught that.
  10. Ive been playing a few XBC matches trying to get used to halo 2 again, but now i cant login for some reason. Says i cant connect to the server o.o I know its not my firewall or anything since nothings changed since 2 days ago when I started playing. Edit: Guess no one wants to help -.-
  11. I use the scuf one xbox one controller since I find the 4 paddles under the controller for abxy are far more comfortable then having to take my thumb o the look pitch every time i want to hit abxy. combined with bumper jumper I have supreme ease of control in Titanfall / Halo 2 Vista(only played 2 times DX)
  12. That was a short retirement but amazing to think of how good the bests in the community are bouncing back from feeling so bleak about the future of competitive Halo (=・ω・)
  13. I Saw it coming and glad it came true =D Really looking up for the competitive side of Halo right now. Hopefully there is more good news like this as launch gets closer.
  14. I really think this "everyone" mentality is out of hand. You cant speak for the entire fanbase and say everyone wants to go back to halo 2. My point is we all know causal players are the majority and they dont like to lose. They play whats most popular / easy. I really really doubt ce / 2 will be the most played by casuals when they are the hardest halo games to play online. I would love to be proven wrong about all of this come fall. It just seems very unlikely that casual players are going to sit and get destroyed by glitches & such when they have the option to play something easier. Only the hardcore and dedicated players will take the time needed to get good at something like ce / 2. The competitive scene should all be saved now though regardless. Online population shouldnt really play a part in this since the competitive tournament scene doesnt really have anything to do with how well each individual halo game is doing in online numbers right? Halo 1 & 2 and even 3 are there to play on xbox one so there shouldnt be any issue anymore with the competitive scene?
  15. Everytime A new halo comes out it is the most recent MP that the majority fanbase plays. Either Halo 2's remasterd MP will be first or halo 4 or they will fight for first. follwed by halo 3 while halo 2 and ce fight for last. this isnt my preferred or hoped for order but the casual players will always play whats easier & halo 1 / original halo 2 are way to cutthroat for the casual fans. History has already proven this when halo 3 completely took over halo 2's population till it shut down, then reach took over 3,s then 4 took over reach's.
  16. To add to what I said above, they most likely wont tie MP to any of the HD ports outside of H2A which confirmed by phil spencer if the game "did exist" it would get much much greater port treatment than CEA. it would have its MP intact(not sure about glitches and such, maybe for custom games only). attatching HD halo 3 and 4 and keeping their mp for xbox one would just be a ridiculous fragment of the community situation. I'm pretty sure they want as many ppl on the xbox one in a single halo title at a time for their number boasting as well as healthy matchmaking true skill etc.
  17. As far as the port thing goes we forget that there are outsourcnig possibilities. I highly doubt 343 is involved heavily with any kind of HD remake stuff. They just provide the assets. It would really be nice to have all of the halo's somehow playable on xbox one finally getting everything on one platform. Of course MP wise the only titles that should have online MP are H2A and then Halo 5 next year. reach, cea,H3/ODST & H4 should only be campaign & co op ports.

    Destiny Size

Wow thats pretty massive if plenty of it is explorable. I'm pretty hyped to just be able to run around in a huge world alongside friends with bungie sci-fi all over it =)
  19. Happy to know I saw a few of these on accident back when I played reach campaign XD Great video though =X
  20. You sure showed them lol. Idk why they would be trash talking with barely any playtime in the game yet. Should have blew up that drop ship!
  21. 1) I think it was worth it. The fast updates and ever increasing quality of matchmaking is a nice change of pace from other devs who seem to take 5 months to make significant changes like this. The game has more than enough maps and plays tyles to make it worth the money. Not to mention stuff we are getting through updates. 2) Yes =) Not as much as at launch since mario kart 8 hype is taking over and have been playing 7 getting the rust off. But still playing TF regularly. 3) I dont think a competitive game NEEDS to have an over saturated or super active online community to be considered esports ready. Look at smash bros. doesnt really have any stable online population and has a strong stream of tournaments and such to keep it afloat. The game just needs the tools to keep it afloat with people outside of xbox live. I am sure we will have these things patched in but I personally am not in a rush as titanfall just kicked off. Let it grow naturally rather then trying to shovel it into esports so quickly.
  22. I agree with this. I was planning to go in with an open mind and take destiny for what it is rather than how can it stack up to Halo competitive. I was just curious what others thought since there isnt really a Halo esque competitive function going on right now.
