  1. Couldn't agree more. Halo's audience has continued to shrink while Siege's has continued to grow. I love Siege and I'm happy to see it's success, but I'm even more sad to see just how little people are interested in Halo now. I used to play in a war sim community with over 300 active members each week. Nowadays literally 100 percent of that community has moved on to Siege, Destiny, and Overwatch. Not a single one of those people still plays Halo and it makes me so sad.
  2. The overtime rules truly baffle me. Maybe there's some magic insight as to why the overtime rules as they are are actually good that I don't understand, but to me they have been genuinely bad since launch. A simple change to next point wins seems to me like it would fix all the problems associated with those rules. Slayer: next kill wins, CTF: next capture wins. Is there something wrong with that format that I just don't realize? Edit: If I had to guess it's due to 343's very strong desire to make tournament settings identical to matchmaking. In a tournament it wouldn't be a disaster to have a flag standoff for an extra 10 minutes, but adding 10 minutes to an already drawn out matchmaking CTF game is probably out of the question for their design goals. Therefore, they have to design the overtime rules around what works in online matchmaking and then force those rules into tournament play so both matchmaking and tournaments have the same rule set. Edit Edit: I, personally, think that's a poor design philosophy that clearly leads to sub-optimal tournament rule sets.
  3. If the announcement is only gonna be a name like last year then my vote is for Halo 5 Part 2: electric boogaloo
  4. Can someone shut this guy up? He's doing nothing but post text walls about how great he is and how stupid everyone else is. No one wants to come onto a forum and read that.
  5. The meme turnaround time on this site is second to none.
  6. I'm sorry Tashi, I wasn't trying to be disrespectful. I appreciate the work you guys do and also your willingness to participate in our forum. With that being said, I don't think we can really define soon until we've learned more about our forum member's rent and, more importantly, everyone's opinions on the various games of the Splinter Cell series. Personally, I'm a Chaos Theory guy.
  7. I was just about to say this. I don't wanna sound negative, but the truth is soon has very little weight to me when coming from 343 nowadays.
  8. Guys we're getting off topic. What's the rent like in the midwest?
  9. I hate to say this, but I imagine he simply stopped being able to get enough viewers playing Halo 5 to justify the amount of time he was spending.
  10. I had no idea there were so many Team Beyond members in Alabama. What a time to be alive.
  11. I live in Muscle Shoals, about an hour from Huntsville. Go team Alabama!
  12. There's something I've been thinking about for the last few days. Halo's 2, 3, and Reach all had substantial multiplayer populations for the entirety of the game's 3 year respective lifespans. All of those games had large player populations from their release until the release of the next game and even after. Yet, both Halo 4 and Halo 5 have had their multiplayer populations die before the end of their respective game's life cycle. We've discussed modern Halo verse classic Halo quite a bit, but I think that trend is as good an indicator as any about the staying power of the different game's multiplayer modes.
  13. What if 343 made us choose between sprint and armor lock being in competitive halo? Like we could willingly have sprint removed but only at the cost of adding armor lock back in. Which do we dislike more?
  14. I don't think it will. Spartan Charge seems to very rarely get used in competitive play and I believe I saw ground pound used twice in the entirety of the most recent HWC.
  15. Did I miss something? There are already remakes in the map pool. Truth is a remake of Midship and Regret is a remix of Truth. As far as not having maps the pros haven't played on before, they are literally asking community members to make new maps to use in the competitive pool; that's what the last few pages of discussion here have been about. Edit: Oh i misunderstood your post. My bad. Apologies.
  16. That sucks dude. You and other pros play the game more than anyone and understand it better than anyone. I will never understand why 343 doesn't take you guys' opinions and ideas more seriously.
