  1. Just a tip for future reference, generally if you make pathways where the walls are less than 2 blocks(20 coordinates) wide, people tend to feel constricted and don't like to go into those areas.
  2. Looks like a solid map. A little rough around the edges, but awesome for a first map. Would love to help you test it out and help give you some better feedback. Keep it up, hope to see more from you in the future.
  3. I feel like lighting is not an issue in this game as much as performance and framerate drops. I would like to start working on noticeable framerate drops/performance decreases with the pieces. What i've noticed so far is that any block that looks good is bad for your map. Oh yeah, I'm back.
  4. There's a reason there's 81 no-votes on this thread compared to the 68 yes-votes.
  5. Yeah this is why every other Halo pro doesn't like Ricochet as competitive right? Ace is the only one I have seen publicly say that he thinks it's a good idea for competitive gaming and v5 settings. You guys are acting like I'm just saying things to piss people off, like, I haven't spent time thinking about Ricochet as a competitive gametype, like I'm just saying things because I feel the need to have a different opinion than a bunch of randoms. But I can't convince myself that it will be good, no matter how you can possibly change it, it just does not add up to be a competitive gametype. Ricochet is fun, it's easy, and it's not competitive. Yeah two good teams going at it will be difficult, but it's so straight forward, there's nothing else to think about other than getting the ball in the goal. Every other competitive gametype (other than Slayer) has so many more things you have to think about. Like slaying, or controlling power weapons, or controlling spawns, etc. But Ricochet, none of that is nearly as important as it is in any other gametype. I may be proven wrong with the new v5 settings, but I know that I won't be playing them at all. I have supported Competitive Halo up to this point, defending it and trying to convince other people it's not as bad as they think. I have been as involved as I can be, but this draws the line. GG Competitive Halo. See you guys on Destiny!
  6. Shzlss, stop acting like Ricochet in competitive is a good thing, competitive Halo has one more event, you don't even play competitive Halo so idk why you are trying to even start some kind of revolution by disregarding any points I have made. Just please stop. It's not going to happen, even if it does happen, it won't be worth it, so why waste the time making it happen. Competitive ricochet is broken. Standard Ricochet is as competitive as you can make it. It's fun, not competitive. I'm literally not going to argue with you anymore because I know I am more right than you are. So please, leave me alone, let my opinions exist.
  7. Read my previous posts please. I already said why it's not competitive, then I was told you can change it. You can change any gametype to make it competitive, but that doesn't make it good. Ricochet is perfect the way it is, why do we need to change it? Why are we trying to put it in competitive? It's so pointless. Competitive Halo is so dead right now like, just enjoy the gametype for what it is for Halo's sake.
  8. Competitive Ricochet is bad. Please, just stop. It would be the one gametype that has the smallest skill gap in competitive games. It's like saying Flood can be competitive if we just change some things around. It's a fun gametype, why can't we just enjoy it for what it is instead of trying to change it to something it's not?
  9. Idk, I just feel like this gametype should not be competitive. Any of the changes you listed above does not change the fact that you can score from almost any point on the map with a lucky throw. It's not a competitive gametype, it's too much fun and way too easy. Sorry that my opinion differs from anyone else here. Thanks for considering my thoughts though guys, appreciate it.
  10. Honestly, I have no idea. This is such a tough decision. Like, I love playing Ricochet in Matchmaking, and the games get pretty competitive at times, but I see such a lack of skill needed for the gametype, that it shouldn't be brought to competitive. I really don't know how to explain it, and I don't mean to offend anyone, but in all honesty, it's so easy to be good at this gametype, it's ridiculous. Here's an example: the opposing team can have 4 people alive and defending their goal, and someone on my team can still score a goal by running it down their throat and dying then having it roll in, or by just throwing it above their heads. Like with this gametype, slaying really is not an important factor as opposed to King of the Hill, Extraction, or Capture the Flag. It's like a single-objective game, unlike the others I mentioned above, which could be seen as multi-objective if you add slaying to it. It's a tough decision for me, and it's hard for me to put into words, but this is basically what I think about the gametype.
  11. Yeah I know that feel, but I am almost 90% sure that if you take it out, it will simplify the map and help gameplay. try it.
  12. I know that you raised the middle diamond thing, and it is a cool aesthetic, but in all honesty, if I were you, I would just take it out completely. It has been done before, and I see that it is somewhat of a line of sight blocker as well as making it difficult to jump across the bridge, but I really just don't see a need to have it there.
  13. Really liking the way that it looks, plenty of routes from any one place, good lines of sight from what I can tell. Want to run a game or two on it so I can let you know more on what I think. Nice job overall though.
  14. Glad to see the lifts gone on this map, I really hope it helps the gameplay. I haven't ever really been a fan of this map, but I'm glad to see you're still trying to improve it. And idk if I have ever told you the reasons I don't like it, but it's because of the forced gameply to gold side, but when you are at gold side, the gameplay just feels awkward. Maybe the lack of control you have over there? Idk, definitely want to run more games on it to refresh my opinion, let me know when you are running customs.
  15. Honestly I would, I really would, but Forge Island doesn't have the pieces I want to use. But I guess I could try right.... making a 5th Sanctuary wasn't exactly on my to-do list though....
