  1. Grenades and line of sight do affect spawns. Also, are there actually three spawn zones on the MLG v8 version of The Pit? It’s been a while, but I only remember seeing two zones on each map with static spawns, and I want to say there are none when the map has dynamic spawns. To be clear, I haven’t said this publicly yet, but out of all the clips that I’ve watched played on the official MLG Gametypes maps and settings in MCC, I do not notice anything different from the original MLG v8 spawns. It was only the UGC gametypes made by xAcer95x that actually had improper spawn placement, to my knowledge. -Ghost
  2. It's always nice visiting family for the holidays... Great work, guys. Extremely clean and super-responsive. -Ghost
  3. Bringing in a PhD consultant was actually a standard during the original trilogy. Go back and watch the old Bungie vidocs - mainly the ones on the Halo 3 Legendary Edition discs. You'll be amazed at the process. In regards to Jess, she's actually a genuine person who's trying to interpret your feedback so that she can relay it to the team. I sat near her for a few months before I left, and she honestly takes her craft very seriously, and scientifically. While we're always prone to the human side of design and development, others rely more on data and statistics. She's a great person to build a relationship with over your future conversations, so try not to scare her off! -Ghost
  4. Hey all, Felt the need to comment in both Evolved threads, so feel free to reply back in either as well. First of all, it's great to finally touch base with everyone here! I've heard about these settings and the community a few months back, but I never ended up playtesting with them unfortunately. I'm hoping that we can get some Evolved games in though here soon, as I'm now currently caught up with this thread, the SMARTAN427 YouTube interview, and the new thread. Having said that, I definitely want to let everyone know that there's been a bit of a miscommunication in relation to our plans and everyone here. I'm in the process of fleshing out a proper Halo 3 classic playlist. What was originally envisioned as a hybrid classic playlist has now been focused into a Halo 3-themed experience with 1:1 Forge remakes. Consequently, we're aiming to sculpt a classic set of maps and modes that appropriately reflect some of the favorite combinations that were seen across the Matchmaking landscape in Halo 3. Nevertheless, @@NOKYARD was instructed to scour the internet for possible map candidates... which eventually led him to this section of the "classic playlist" dialogue. While I wholeheartedly respect, appreciate, and flat-out admire the work, testing, and iteration that was done on these Evolved settings, this was not the intended experience that we sought out to create this time around. However, we do aim to take the findings and the understandings from your extensive testing to further our current plans. For example, I'm a huge fan of the Jump Height and Jump Gravity settings that you all landed on. Those changes, along with a few others, will greatly impact our choices and playtesting for this classic playlist - so thank you for testing the various ideas and suggestions from the community (as it makes our jobs a little bit easier ). Regarding the ongoing question of "will we ever see an Evolved playlist?"... that will really be up to the community. When it comes to playlist additions, we have to take all things into consideration, especially in terms of population numbers. Thankfully though, we do have the luxury of social rotational playlists now, so don't lose hope just yet! We're always keeping our ear to the ground, so stay passionate and stay focused. In the meantime, I'm hoping that we can all team up to create the best playlist possible for our proposed plans. I'll be stopping in here periodically, so feel free to chime in, ask questions, etc; I'll answer everything to the best of my ability. It's great knowing that there's a very eager group of players trying to recreate some of the old nuances of classic Halo gameplay... so please feel free to lend a hand if you can! -Ghost

  6. Good hanging out with you and the squad this weekend, man. Learned a lot from each other, and I'm hoping I can make the Beach LAN this year! -Ghost
  7. Thank you all for tuning in this weekend and continuing to provide feedback throughout. Finally caught up, and man, I'm extremely happy to see that people are enjoying this gameplay. We worked very hard to refine the settings with the necessary help of our dedicated Pro Players. Watching that last game unfold before my eyes truly gave me some flashbacks of classic Midship gameplay. Teamwork, flanks, and staying alive when it mattered most. NV showed that they had the slightest edge in this first bout, but we all know how much OpTic hates losing... Atlanta can't come soon enough. Lastly, I hope everyone enjoyed the event, aside from the obvious technical difficulties. We were actively listening all weekend long, so thank you for keeping us honest. Working with Goldenboy again was a good reminder to me that we really have some amazing fans and talent (wouldn't say he's a fan WITH talent though) who will always go the extra distance to get things done the right way. Props to him and the rest of the crew. -Ghost
  8. Honestly had no idea that I even achieved that feat. #TheMoreYouKnow Hope everyone enjoys the HCS Summer settings! We worked tirelessly over the past few weeks alongside our pro players to get them in a comfortable spot. And as always, please keep giving feedback... because I still read every damn post in this thread! -Ghost
  9. Definitely taking in all of the feedback in regards to "caster bias." I'll level with you guys here though... As an aggressive support player for my entire career, I've always been extremely critical of every designated sniper. To this day, I've never, EVER, seen any high-caliber sniper be as objective-oriented and team-focused as Renegade. He's impressed me through and through, and I've told him that personally in St. Louis. That being said, I completely understand how unreasonable I probably sounded during that match, and I'll ensure that I stay mindful of that in the future. While I do tend to have more context to give on old players, I'm always looking for up-and-comers, such as Renegade or Trippey. Also, if there's any team that I'm rooting for, you guys know that it's Team EnVyUs. Casting a Str8 Rippin' match with Tom will undoubtedly result in some favoritism, and to be frank, we were just sticking to the caster schedule. Nevertheless, I'll be certain to be a lot more fair in the future. Missing some of the kills from Saiyan that led up to his Killing Frenzy is inexcusable to say the least. LG had an amazing series, and I'll be sure to review it later this week to work on my faults. Anyways, hope it was an entertaining series regardless, and I'm always looking to improve. While I might not come on here daily asking for feedback like Simms or Onset, I'm usually lurking. So please, help me help you! And thank you in advance. -Ghost
  10. Beyond Forums' Judges: Please upvote my post here if you think fire should qualify as red. Please downvote my post here if you think fire shouldn't qualify as red. Thank you for your time and consideration. -Ghost
  11. What a series. Great teamwork always makes me a happy camper. Loved the heart and determination that PMP just played with in that series. How's everyone liking the stream so far? -Ghost
  12. Good times. Pretty damn excited to get this London event underway. The Gfinity team has really gone above and beyond to make this a spectacular event, and I'm certain that it will be evident in the broadcast. I know it's late for you guys right now, but I'm hoping to see some big support from our community. These guys truly deserve it. Enjoy the show, and we'll be paying attention to the feedback. The Wembley hype is real in this venue! -Ghost
