  1. Didn't you guys just reduce aim assist in your gold pro settings though..? Also I have no problem with aim assist existing, it's just the amount of aim assist which is the problem, let's not pretend like you need to be a pro player with 15+ years of experience just to get a 5sk with the DMR. I haven't played on a controller in years but I'm considering plugging one in just to prove that 5sk on a controller really isn't that difficult. I think it's best we get this debate settled as soon as possible and really it's a good thing that Reach is giving us this opportunity before Infinite launches, because if it launches with the same balance as Reach, competitive Infinite on PC will be DOA.

Let me clarify, yes he lacks game knowledge and he admitted this but that wasn't the reason he hated the game, he hated the game because he knew no matter how good he got he was always going to be at a significant disadvantage when it came to simple 1v1 gun battles, that's why mentioning the tired old cliches "He's playing against pros!" and "He lacks game knowledge!" are completely irrelevant when the real issue is that he can't even win basic 1v1s against controller users.

Irrelevant, as he stated many times before his issue isn't with his lack of game knowledge, it's with that fact that in a straight up 1v1 at any area on the map he will lose to controller players a majority of the time because of the generous amount of aim assist that Reach has. I'm not sure why all of a sudden people are pretending like Reach doesn't have excessive aim assist when it has literally always been that way, and it probably also doesn't help that the aim assist on DMR was made with bloom in mind and never intended to be balanced for no bloom.
  4. I mean I'm having fun at times too but I'm also not going to pretend like this isn't the game that started the decline of the entire franchise.
  5. I'm using 100 currently, may bump it up to 105-110 but definitely wouldn't recommend anything higher than that, makes hitting targets harder. I hope they fix the giant view-models for the centered crosshair too.
  6. I tuned in to XQC as he's currently the top viewed person playing the game, literally the first words I hear out of his mouth are "HOLY SHIT THE INPUT LAG IS INSANE" ...Uh oh... Edit: Just saw he had Vsync on, hopefully it was that...

  9. Sorry to derail the thread slightly, here is the context for why I mentioned shotguns.

I'm not sure why you insist on looking at things in the most simplistic way possible, who ever said anything about the Apex shotguns, and are those the only 2 shotguns that exist in all of gaming? Funnily enough the peacekeeper is currently the most hated gun in all of Apex so even if what you said was relevant it doesn't even hold true. Also inconsistent damage from shotguns in online games will ALWAYS be a thing as it has been for every online game with a shotgun in it (see; Apex, Fortnite, GoW, any CoD, Halo scattershot, etc.) As I said I would be looking to actually test the things I'm saying so we can talk about something of substance instead of just speculating but unfortunately the game isn't out yet...

Don't think of it so much as a nerf, I would more so be looking to make the shotgun more versatile, as you said if you hit someone with the shotgun and they don't die you usually have to follow up with a melee or hope they choke so you can hit another shot, this is why I suggested increasing the fire rate to remedy the clunky gameplay that the shotgun tends to have. Obviously picturing exactly what I have in mind just from the vague description I have given is difficult so I hope to be able to test these kind of ideas out once the game launches so we can discuss something of actual substance instead of just speculation.
  12. Honestly I think the main sniper in Halo should be a bolt-action, especially if it is going to work on PC without being OP. The generic Halo sniper could easily be made into a DMR with changes to its rate of fire and magazine size, obviously it wouldn't be able to 1 shot kill a fully shielded player either. Also what are people's thoughts on making radical changes to the balance of certain weapons for the new comp settings, is that something we are in favor of or are we trying to keep in line with the rest of the game to some degree? Imo things like the shotgun should never be able to kill a fully shielded player in a single shot, instead I would prefer something like a weaker shotgun that has a longer ranger and higher rate of fire, that should give it a bit more utility instead of just being a weapon that you hold crouch around a corner with.

"In the future, we would like to experiment with a TU version of Invasion with some other tweaks introduced to retain this balance. This would mainly involve buffs to the accuracy and/or range of the Plasma Repeater." I found this little bit from the latest MCC blog post quite interesting, mainly the fact that they are willing to make balance changes to individual weapons, I don't recall them ever mentioning anything like that in the past in regards to MCC and it makes me wonder how far we could push them and what other kinds of changes they would be willing to make for comp settings perhaps.

  17. I've thought about this before and I definitely like the idea of having a proper hand cannon in Halo, hopefully with mods we can test something like that out.
  18. We definitely should do a bunch of testing once we have the games on PC, the Evolved settings were fun to take part in but were ultimately ruined by a lack of customization, I think the 4sk Magnum felt great if it wasn't for H5's terrible aiming and the stupid amounts of aim assist.
  19. MCC PC will have Reach,CE,H2+H2A,H3+H3ODST and H4, they are releasing them one by one in that order starting with Reach.
  20. You can give them information that they may have otherwise missed for no added disadvantage since you are already dead, if you can view teammates at the very least you shouldn't be able to move the camera around.
  21. What are your opinions on the death cam? I thought about it lately and I feel as though it gives you waaay too much benefits for dying, you pretty much get an overview of nearly the entire match and access to information that you/your team may have never had without it, I don't think you should be rewarded this much for something that is ultimately supposed to be a punishment, I think the cam should be completely static like it was before and remove the ability to scroll between players, at least for competitive anyways.
