  1. At least one thing had to go wrong... The new H2 custom settings are cool though.
  2. Because lots of people only look at weapons at surface level i.e. "how much damage does this do directly" and disregard utility entirely. Lots of people think the H1 pistol is overpowered, for example.
  3. Absolutely not. They tried to voice their concerns with the game then and failed. Why should they bother now? We've seen them attempt to fix Halo 2's problems only to introduce more. They tried to adjust the firing rates of the weapons to be closer to the original game and then inadvertently messed up button combos slightly. It's simply not worth the effort.
  4. I only implied that sprint (and thereby advanced movement) is not Halo and that classic Halo is. I did not make any other implications or assertions. If we are to disregard the name of the game completely and solely look at the gameplay, then we could easily make Halo 5 out to be from a completely different franchise.
  5. It's a simple ultimatum. Do you want sprint, or do you want a Halo game?
  6. OG Halo 1 sniper is way harder to use, not only mechanically but because it can also be contested by the pistol.
  7. You hit a weird shot in Halo 3 that looked like it shouldn't have hit. Shocker! Can't help but feel this entire conversation is just more unproductive hate on H3 that gets nowhere.
  8. As far as I know party restrictions are only implemented in ranked playlists, which is really stupid. Social is pretty much the wild west.
  9. GGs to Tox, Denial, and everyone else that played. Awesome weekend despite all the production issues, most entertaining Halo stream in recent memory.
  10. H1 2v2 was excellent, great job to everyone involved and to Patch and Legend for playing phenomenally.

  12. Social MCC is fun for about five seconds until every game turns into a 2v4.

Decide to search, takes five minutes to find a game, Sanctuary Crazy King. 4v1 within two minutes. What a fun game.
  14. I love now with an actual timer I can clearly see every 4v4 game to 50 end at or before the 5 minute mark.
  15. 2v2 is a great thing for Halo, that's undeniable, but I can't see it replacing 4v4 as the premier competitive experience or anything. I might be in the minority but I really enjoy 2v2 CoD.
  16. EXP and the social progression system were great ways to measure one's playtime in any particular playlist. There isn't really any meaningful progression in MCC besides the ranking systems which even then mean less to people than they did in the H2/H3 days. Seems like a no brainer to add one to MCC lol
  17. Sure. Here's what I can find. They're not the "exact same" charts, but they do tell you that Halo's population has declined severely. Particularly in the last image. Let me know if you find a H3 chart by itself, I can't seem to. Maybe on bnet somewhere. Wow. Who would've thought? Also, in terms of pop counters: H3 is last 24 hours, Reach and 4 is/were concurrent players, pretty sure. Though for years the counters have either been disabled or just fucky, I don't know.

  19. Everything already established in H1 and H2 but find a solution to make BXR more skillful (remove melee lunge?). H2 BXB could be replaced with H1 BLB as BLB uses up a grenade, can't be melee spammed, and is also much harder due to lack of melee lunge. If sword functions the same as H2 add a way to parry it with melee so sword isn't ridiculously dominant. I think the way H2 already functions, despite everything being unintended glitches, is quite great (besides the weapon respawning system). But it can be improved. If it could be designed around a "rock paper scissors" balance while keeping H2 formula intact it would be the best game in the series in my opinion.
