Crackdown 3 Delayed Until 2018 | Beyond Entertainment

Sad news Crackdown fans, the upcoming third release of the series has been delayed once again. Crackdown 3 was originally slated to drop late 2016 after being announced at E3 in 2014. That target release was later delayed to Fall 2017.  During E3 of this year we got a new trailer for the game which gave us a release date of November 7th, 2017. Unfortunately yesterday Microsoft broke the news that Crackdown 3 was now being pushed to a spring 2018 release.

Shannon Loftis of Microsoft Studios had this to say on the delayed launch.

“We’re very excited about Crackdown 3, and so are many fans, and so it’s a difficult call to move the release date. However, we want to make sure to deliver the right game, with the right quality, and at the right time. Crackdown 3 is a hugely ambitious game and we want to ensure we deliver the right experiences all the way through every part of the game, whether that’s campaign, co-op multiplayer or our competitive multiplayer mode, Wrecking Zone. Getting the balance right between the three modes is important, and we are going to take the extra development time to ensure that. Gamers can expect Crackdown 3 in Spring of 2018.”

Crackdown 3 was one of the few Xbox One X launch titles with as it was supposed to release the same day as the new console. Now with Crackdown 3 being delayed, it is concerning if fans of the series will wait on purchasing the Xbox One X.  I suppose it is always good for a developer to wait and put out a polished product as opposed to rushing something that is not ready. Once a new release date for Crackdown 3 is announced, we will be sure to let you know.
