X Games Rocket League Invitational Tournament Announced

By: Ryan Cox | July 1st, 2017

Psyonix Studios and the X Games have announced a $75,000 invitational Rocket League tournament as a part of the ‘X Fest’ entertainment festival at this year’s action sports competition.

The tournament will run from July 14th-16th and will be streamed live on ESPN3, and likely other streaming platforms as well.

“The X Games and ESPN have done a great job of bringing attention to nontraditional sports over the years. Adding esports and Rocket League to that lineup is something we at Psyonix are very excited about. We can’t wait to bring this competition to a whole new audience.”

– Josh Watson, Esports Operations

This announcement arrives conveniently after the announcement of NBC’s plans to host Rocket League tournaments for NBC Sports. Psyonix has also recently announced that Rocket League will be cross-platform compatible across three platforms.
