CD Projekt president Adam Kicinski, during a financial results conference, stated The Witcher 3 4K support for PlayStation 4 will arrive in “just a few days” and Xbox One X by the end of the year. Since then, representation for CD Projekt Red has clarified to Eurogamer.com that it won’t be as soon as people think for PlayStation 4 and they’ll clue a date “when the time is right”.
Waiting for the right time seems to be a common theme in translating the Polish developer’s plans for their games. As of now, they’re focusing on their standalone Gwent game and their next IP, Cyberpunk 2077, which remains shrouded in mystery. After an E3 unveil showing The Witcher 3’s logo in conjunction with “Xbox One X Enhanced”, they confirmed the next-gen graphics updates were on the way for both platforms.
The other news from this financial conference shows a company, CD Projekt, that’s in good financial shape. They are worth over $2.2 billion with profits of $33 million in the first half of 2017, which allows them to sit on $200 million in cash. They also showcased the accomplishments of their digital distribution platform, GOG.com, and their plan for Gwent’s esports venture, Gwent Masters. Keep an eye out for The Witcher 3 in 4K if you own a PlayStation 4 or have an Xbox One X on the way!
