For a few years now (starting with Halo: Reach), Halo games have had a voting system to determine what maps were played for each game of matchmade multiplayer. While on paper this sounds like a great idea, it can cause matchmaking to become stale because too many people vote for the same map/gametypes; but what about voting in Halo 5?
In recent years, many fans and community members have expressed the desire to have a simple veto, or no voting system at all, as to keep the multiplayer experience fresh. Today, Josh Holmes, Executive Producer of Halo 5: Guardians, confirmed that there will be no system for Voting in Halo 5 Multiplayer.
This will likely mean that maps will either be randomly selected (Halo 2) or set on a rotation in the post-game lobby (Titanfall). Either way, this is bound to add a lot of variety to Halo 5’s matchmaking, for both Arena and Warzone.
