Twitch has released a statement through their official blog saying that they recently had a security breach relating to user passwords. The popular video streaming website has expired all login information for accounts, as well as disconnected accounts from 3rd party websites like YouTube and Twitter as well.
The next time you login to your Twitch account you will be prompted to reset your password before you are able to do anything.
Here is Twitch’s official statement on the matter at hand:
We are writing to let you know that there may have been unauthorized access to some Twitch user account information.
For your protection, we have expired passwords and stream keys and have disconnected accounts from Twitter and YouTube. As a result, you will be prompted to create a new password the next time you attempt to log into your Twitch account.
We also recommend that you change your password at any website where you use the same or a similar password. We will communicate directly with affected users with additional details.
If you were a user that was affected by this password hacking breach then Twitch will send you a message regarding the details of the breach. Twitch is saying that only some users are affected according to Gameinformer.
