Update: Titanfall Beta Teased by Origin
Microtransactions as of late have been included in a lot of popular franchises like Forza Motorsport 5 on the Xbox One and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Ghosts on all platforms.
While Call of Duty simply uses microtransactions for cosmetic purposes, Forza allowed players to essentially go down a pay-to-win route, offering certain cars which would otherwise take months to unlock.
With Titanfall getting a lot of love from fans of Call of Duty and the competitive scene, players were concerned if Respawn’s upcoming title would feature any form of microtransactions, whether it be cosmetic or gameplay changing. Moments after the question was asked, Respawn replied, confirming that no form of microtransactions would be featured in Titanfall.
@ShaunKehoe no microtransactions. I don't have any news on a season pass

While this may be a huge upset to those who love purchasing cosmetics for their guns, etc, it also confirms that to be the best at Titanfall, you will need to put time into the game like everybody else.
