Halo: Spartan Assault, the official top-down Halo shooter on Windows 8 devices from 343 Industries and Vanguard Games will be receiving an update on August 29th, 2013.
This update will include multiple new missions, new achievements and at long last – Xbox 360 Controller support.
Five New Missions
Operation F will be added to the game in this update which offers five brand new missions from the perspective of Spartan Sarah Palmer and Spartan Edward Davis.
Xbox 360 Controller Support
Also coming with this update is support to play the game with the Xbox 360 Controller, providing your device has a USB port for a controller.
Five New Achievements
Complete Operation F – 10 Gamerscore
Destroy all Mega Turrets with the Grizzly tank in Operation F, Mission 2 – 10 Gamerscore
Tour of Duty
Earn all Gold starts in Operation F – 10 Gamerscore
Vidmaster Challenge 2.0
Complete Operation F, Mission 4 with the Blind and Thunderstorm Skulls active – 15 Gamerscore
These new achievements add a total of 50 new gamerscore to the game. More information about the Operation Hydro update can be found over at Halo Waypoint.
UPDATE: ShackNews is reporting that you’ll be able to use in-game XP to purchase microtransaction items such as the Rocket Launcher and Spartan Laser. A demo for the game will also be available on the Windows Store starting August 30th.
