Rocket League is one of the most explosively popular games in the current generation. The physics-based racing soccer game is currently available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC/Mac. However, Rocket League developer, Psyonix Inc., claims that their popular title may be coming to one additional console—the Nintendo Switch.
According to a report from IGN, Psyonix has stated that they are evaluating the possibility of Rocket League expanding to Nintendo’s newly released console.
“Just like all the other platforms, we are evaluating it. We’re looking to see what the technical requirements are. We’re looking to see what kind of true community demand there is. We’re looking to see how it would benefit the community as a whole. So we’re still in that evaluation phase. It’s definitely too early to say that it wouldn’t happen, but it’s also definitely too early to say that it would.” – Jeremy Dunham, Vice President of Psyonix
Dunham went on to illustrate the company’s decision making as community-driven and determinant on the demand of the player base. Nintendo’s new console is only one month old, so there is plenty of time for the fan-favorite soccer battle cars to find a new home with Nintendo fans.
