PUBG July Update to Add FOV Slider & First-Person Servers

By: James Glaze | July 13th, 2017

[UPDATE 7/20] The update has been delayed 1 week until August 3rd.

It has only been a two weeks since PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds received its monthly update.  An update that added a few new weapons and balanced loot spawns. This update has been well received, but players of the popular massive battle royal shooter have another reason to get excited with the upcoming July update.

In a tweet posted today, Brendan Greene aka PlayerUnknown, confirmed that dedicated first-person servers will be coming to PUBG in this month’s update. This new “game mode” will start in NA and EU first, and will only be playable in Solo and Duo matches.  Once things are ironed out and working 100%, other regions will be included.

There seems to be a highly requested feature that many players have wanted to be implemented for some time tied to this update.  That feature is a field of view (FOV) slider.  It was reported by VG24/7 that an FOV slider is already being tested in house at Bluehole Studios, and will be coming with the July update.
