PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds comes to Xbox One and Xbox One X in just under two weeks as a part of Xbox Game Preview, and PlayerUnknown himself, the creative mind behind the battle royale genre, has made a new statement about the game’s frame rate on the Xbox console family.
While I previously stated PUBG would run at higher FPS at XGP launch on 12/12, I want to clarify that PUBG will run at 30 FPS across all @Xbox One devices. We’re constantly refining the game & exploring options to increase FPS, but this early in dev, we’re unable to confirm more.

Previously, it was believed that PUBG would be able to operate at a higher framrate for its Xbox Game Preview release, particularly on the souped up Xbox One X console. Unfortunately for fans expecting more, PlayerUnknown confirmed that the game will run at 30 frames-per-second on all Xbox One family consoles. It is unknown whether or not the Xbox One X is being held back to prevent issues with gameplay between different generations of the Xbox One.
On the bright side, Battlegrounds still has a plenty of momentum. At Geoff Keighley’s annual Game Awards, fans will witness the exclusive reveal of Battlegrounds’ first ever new map—a desert-themed battleground.
