Despite Sony and PlayStation seemingly becoming the leaders in the current console market battle, Microsoft turned heads at E3 2016 when they announced Project Scorpio, a new phase for the Xbox One console that will drastically increase performance and graphic fidelity when playing games. While it was rumored that Sony would also announce a beefed up version of the PS4, there was no reveal to be seen at E3. Today at a highly anticipated reveal, Sony unveiled the PlayStation 4 Pro.
The PlayStation 4 Pro console will release on November 10th, 2016 for $399.
The Pro console follows a similar vision with Project Scorpio, allowing game developers to fully utilize new tech specs of the console for increased performance and graphics. However, this is not a new console generation, all games that are designed for the PS4 Pro will also be playable on the original PlayStation 4 and the PS4 Slim.
The PlayStation 4 Pro will feature an upgraded GPU and a 1TB hard drive, as well as the capability for 4K resolution and HDR.
