Sony will soon release firmware update 5.0 for PlayStation 4, which will offer the capability to stream from the console in 1080p/60fps.

The Twitch streaming upgrade will only be available for the PlayStation 4 Pro system with the 5.0 update installed. The update will also provide the ability to follow any PlayStation account, similar to the Xbox One, in order to promote more social interaction and sharing of content.

The PlayStation 4 5.0 update will also improve “sub account” functionalities as well as improve parental/family control options via a new web application.

Also notable in the new system update is the addition of system notifications to the user’s Quick Menu. Sony has also added features behind-the-scenes relating to discs and add-on content that will make things easier for developers releasing Game of the Year Edition-style game copies.

Sony has also just recently unveiled a themed Destiny 2 DualShock controller.
