Earlier this month, Blizzard announced the first seven teams that will be participating in the inaugural Overwatch league. With this announcement, many details regarding when players will be signed along with salaries were left out. Today, Blizzard has released all this information and more. Check out the details below.

  • Official Player Signing Window for Season 1 – August 1st through October 30th
  • Players will have a guaranteed one-year contract with signed team with an option for an additional year
  • Minimum player salary of $50,000
  • Health insurance and retirement plan provided by team
  • Minimum 50% performance bonus via playoffs, events to players directly
  • $1 million dollars awarded to Season 1 Champions

More teams are still yet to be announced for Season 1, in which they will follow the same “official player signing window” as stated above.

The Overwatch League is set to debut later this year.  No official start date has been given yet as things are still being finalized. Blizzard will be sharing more information on the League’s official format once all teams are announced.  Us here at beyond will be sure to post these announcements as they come in.
