Since the release of Halo 3 in 2007, theater and spectator modes have been present in many franchises, Call of Duty included. Michael Condrey of Sledgehammer Games replied to a fan question on Twitter, stating that this much loved feature will be absent for the much-anticipated Call of Duty: WWII, despite being included in several previous titles.
There will not. Very sorry. But the Share functionality on the PS4 is very powerful for capturing and uploading.

This comes as a major disappointment to many in the community. Theater modes allow for fun to be had with groups of friends who can relive stunning in-game moments and also contribute heavily to the esports scene of many franchises, allowing coaches to review footage before passing feedback on to the players. Even moreso, theater makes the lives of content creators far easier. While Condrey did supply the PS4’s Share function as an alternative, most fans don’t seem to be satisfied with that, as the only benefit of not including theater will likely be slightly faster load times.
