Today via Game Informer, a new Halo 5: Guardians map has been revealed.  This new map is called “Fathom” and is located in a research center underwater.  You can see our breakdown of the map below.

General Information:

Symmeterical Map.

Located in an underwater research center.

Red and Blue coloring for easy reference.

Ground Floor:

Central Point is a diving station.

Hydra spawns in this location.

Look out the windows to see “Space whales” and “Space eels”

Sight lines are fit for medium to long range weapons.

Metal boxes will prevent you from seeing as far as you could otherwise.

Shooting a Metal Box will cause it to lower for a few seconds, granting players a full sight line.

Submarine:

A docked submarine is featured on the map.

A shotgun spawns on top of the submarine.

If you fall into the water surrounding the submarine, you will die.

Outer Areas of the map::

Hallways toward the outer edges create choke points.

Hallways grant access to ramps that lead to the second floor.

Central Floor:

Sniper rifle spawns here

This area offers a wide view of the map (makes sense the sniper spawns here)

The wide open area leaves players vulnerable to attack from many different angles.

One of the goals of 343 Industries multiplayer team is to cut out random elements on multiplayer maps, in favor of less random “player controlled” elements. This is simply to promote a more overall competitive experience in the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer arena.
